Program Changes (Mono/Poly & Model D)
Hey guys,
I've read that Program Changes work for Korg Mono/Poly and Moog Model D, but how exactly do Program Changes work? I understand the end result is that they will toggle between presets, but I'm not sure how to implement this as far as MIDI is concerned.
I've done a lot of MIDI mapping using MidiFlow, so I'm pretty familiar with routing MIDI, but I'm just not sure what setting up a controller to send PC messages to an app should look like. Can anyone help me? I just want to use two buttons on my controller to toggle between my presets, one button being the 'previous' preset and the other being the 'next' preset. Is this possible?
Appreciate any explanation anyone has. It's been difficult to research the topic of Program Changes in general.

What is the midi controller you're using?
Hey, I figured it out! It's actually really simple and intuitive. I feel kind of dumb for posting this without first trying it out.
I'm using a Launch Control and remapping via MidiFlow.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to send PC messages to iMono/Poly's User Categories because by default it only sends to Factory A bank. Does anyone know if this is changeable?
PC messages are different from bank changes messages. There are two different bank change messages LSB and MSB. Some synths use one and some the other. I am not sure if the iMonoPoly accepts bank change.

If I'm understanding correctly, that corresponds to CC000 (MSB) and CC032 (LSB). From this article, I understand how this is supposed to work... but I just don't know how that is supposed to look like in terms of MIDI.
So as an example, if I want to select the 17th patch from the second bank in a synth...
I would send a message with CC000 having a value of 0
and I would send a message with CC032 with a value of 1 (for the second bank)
and then finally a PC message with a value of 17 ...?
Do I have the right understanding here?
With a lot of synths, you send only the MSB or the LSB (with the associated bank number) not both.
