GeoShred problem
Any ideas how to get rid of popping noises in GeoShred presets? At one point, I thought it was the delay was causing the issue because it seemed to stop when I turned it down or off, but apparently I was wrong 🤦🏻♂️. The pops or crackles seem to happen upon release of a note or chord. BTW, this is on an iPhone 7 S running iOS 12. Thanks for any help!

Have you tried rebooting your iPhone?
Reboot doesn’t help
I’d suggest it was something to do with length of release, but I have no idea where you would change that. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app?
On some patchs there is a Pinch Harmonic On Release setting on the control panel. Having this enabled makes a popping noise. I’m not sure if this is what your hearing. I don’t like the effect myself.
Is there another app or controller active(maybe wireless Bluetooth even) trigger a parameter in Geo?
Very robust midi connection package that sometimes grabs signals not intended.
I also think has midi learn and some pre assigned CC that may be being modulated.
Total guess.
I play Geo on iOS screen or with wireless midi controllers like my Livid Minim or LPDA AKAI wireless so know odd things that happen on modulation
Hi Bassey. I think that what you are hearing is a "pinch harmonic on release". You can turn it off from the control surface for presets that use it. What is happening, is that for feedback distortion presets, the finger lift recoil between the string and fret is modeled. You can clearly hear this when players like Steve Vai or Joe Satriani are playing at high feedback levels. The string is so driven by feedback that as you lift your finger it collides with the fret momentarily creating a pinch harmonic. Again, you can turn it off.
If this is not the issue, and you want to contact me directly please reach out to [email protected] and we can narrow what the issue is. Thanks, - Pat Scandalis, CEO/CTO moForte Inc.
Thanks Doug and Pat, I’ll give that a try👍🏻
