I listened to the album while doing the dishes, very inspiring!

Holy shit! Fan art for music! Awesome! I'm smiling so much!

Is it OK for me to share this? And if so, how can I credit you? Do you have a twitter account or website or anything?

Thank you so much for this! I like your cartooning style, too. Would love to see more of it.

By all means you’re welcome to share the drawing if you’d like. I suck at the online presence thing at the moment so no need to credit me. :p

Your artwork is great btw, do you do it for a living?

  • @zpxlng Really enjoying this! You have your own sound but if I were going to trace a lineage then it would be with the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

    Keep creating!

I'll be building a proper library of trimmed and tidied samples of recorded audio from all manner of odds and ends around the house and workplace and anything/anywhere else that comes to mind! I will then start loading/tuning them up to make customised kits, and mixing them with my synth patches to continue expanding on my collection of playable atmos and pads and such.

Yeah, this is more-or-less what I did. Word of warning, though. They say that when you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail. Well, when you have a microphone, everything looks like a sound! Once you start recording noises (and silly mouth sounds in my case), each idea leads to a hundred more and it's difficult to stop. I have a folder of self-made sounds in AudioShare that started small but exploded out of control. It's a massive repository of nonsense, now. But you never know what will turn out to be just the right sound!

I know a few great people in the community who would also love this work of yours. I will be drawing their attention to it and pointing them towards it. I think it really deserves attention.

Thank you so much! That sort of thing is so helpful.

OK, if you say so! Thank you. Your style is really appealing, so I hope you find a way to get it out there, in your own time.

Thanks! I've done comics semi-professionally before, but at the moment I have a full-time job, so it's just a serious hobby for the time being, same as music. But when I have the chance, I'll try to go freelance again. Someday!

Thank you! One of the nicest things about releasing music is that people tell me, "Oh, it sounds like [band I've never heard of]," so I get to discover great new music!

Speaking of which... @rs2000, I went and listened to Zoolook and absolutely love it! Just exactly the sort of thing I'm into but is so hard to find. I'm almost annoyed that this great album has been around for most of my life but I never knew about it! So thanks again for the recommendation.

  • Absolutely brilliant, mate! Within 2 minutes of the first track starting, I got that feeling that I’ve always got from albums I loved at first hearing: ‘I like what this person’s brain is coming up with so I trust their brain. I can now turn my critical faculties off and be totally open to this new sound - and just enjoy where it takes me.’

Thank you so much! That's such a thoughtful and meaningful comment. It means a lot.

    Brilliant!

Thanks, and thank you for listening!

    And while I'm posting...

I might as well mention that the album is out 'officially' today (October 21st), which means that it can now be found on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, etc. etc. — pretty much everywhere digital music is. Search for "Relax, Will Ya?" and/or "Patrick Alexander's Melody Zone" and you'll find it.

So if you have friends who might be into this music but aren't Bandcamp-savvy like all of us here in the Audiobus Forums Cool Gang, you can now recommend it to them via mainstream channels! And Napster too! All the mainstream channels, plus Napster in the year of our Lord two thousand and eighteen.

  • Congrats on the release!
