  • Just tested Ableton link and seems fine with other apps.

Does this apply to the beta version which has Ableton link and start stop in AB3 ?

No, I've tested with the current appstore version. I'm already busy with testing other betas but I'm sure other fellow hardware lovers will give it a try this weekend

  • The app might seem intimidating at first sight, but it is not really that hard to set up a basic arp pattern.
Then add CC automation curves, adjust pattern length using midi controllers, and so on.

If anyone have both this and StepPolyArp, it would be nice to hear what features they have that don't overlap. Is there anything you can do in Cream that's not possible in SPA? And vice versa.

I think one of the obvious differences is Cream offers 4 separate tracks however the new SPA is AU so you can run multiple instances. Plus Cream has an internal synth engine.

  • Cream is excellent - wanted to share a tip I received from Kaikoo - I don’t think he’s here, but he had some Cream skills!

  • Difficult but very pretty UI.

No problem, got the Beatwave beta today aswell, so busy testing.

Is there open beta for Beatwave? I used to love the old version.

@Approach I asked the dev on Twitter if I could join the beta and was sent a link. His handle is:

  • Took the 3.99 plunge on the original. Very interesting and enjoyable, if a little confusing. An app you can surely 'get lost' in. Works swell on my iPad 2, which is a bonus. Look forward to where this thing goes. I'll be digging in some more to this.

  • @thesoundtestroom Something for you to test and help 'beginners' on the way, Doug? I would appreciate it.

    Oops....double post

  • Miss @Kaikoo (and @Kaikoo2 too :) ) He def. knew this thing backwards if one is prepared to dig through the archives. Often think of him having noodles somewhere and chuntering to his fine self....

Same, miss him! I couldn’t even get Cream to start playing until I came here and someone explained to me what an arp was. I poured over kaikoo’s seemingly cryptic Cream meanderings. I think it had a botched release and came out same time as Modstep. Fairly sure I’ve never crashed it.

  • I had one of those nights where I was tired but still wanted to accomplish something. Put a solid hour in to this app and made headway. Some. Very very cool.

  • Maybe this will help some of you, it is easy to overlook.

  • I always liked the synthesis on this app. I wish the two oscillators could cross-mod and fm each other though.

  • Man I remember when this was first coming out and the forum was abuzz. This was one of the hot items of the year in 2014 or 2015, whichever. And then it was silence.

@Fruitbat1919 I'm with you. There's learning something, and then there's getting around unconventional programming just to be able to wring a little bit more out of an arpeggiator (which is already doing all the work for you). I figured it out one time and it all clicked, I went 'huh!', then I never used it again.

    I agree. Nice sound.

Any folk dig in over the weekend with the beta? How do you find the development? Really digging this app and now to dig the manual too. :)

We had a meeting and decided to put you out on point on this one. Looking forward to your report Lieutenant....

    Excellent! As you were.

Honestly though, was just curious as I'm now sort of peeling away the onion skin on the original, little by little. I'm not smart enough to beta anything and so was curious as to those of you who are - how different the new one is and if I should suspend my current learning curve, if it's going to be significantly different. Thanks.

  • This is an awesome app and I've been getting great results out of it. Certainly a challenge to figure out though and I've been chipping away at it but am nowhere near 'competent'. Regardless, results of experimentation have been great fun and it's already made it into a track (which will be released on the halloween contest thread.

I wouldn't have tried this if not for the beta test invite. Will be purchasing and using regularly.

Anyone hear any news of progress on this? I'm still digging in to it and digging it.

  • I'm still trying to figure out the app.

  • You guys found the user manual, yes?

Yup. It's just a complex thingy with tons of quirks. I'm getting it but it takes some dedication.

Ok. Just wanted to be sure you guys weren’t flying blind. :)
I agree, this app is unusual in its interface design.
Not bad by any means, just a different approach compared to most other iOS apps.
This thing sure packs some power, though. It does so many things. Many things to figure out.

Thanks guy. Yeah, i believe in it so I'm putting in the time. So many things for sure, eg. today I just dug into the synth for the first time. Man, I really like this app.
