Chord Poly Pad Or Novichord on AU

If I have an all AU setup can you still use the above to trigger an AU synth from inside the DAW during the usual AU workflow? Or does the synth need to be triggered standalone then brought into the DAW separately?

To get the former are there any AU chord creativity apps around?

All the DAWs support MiDI assignment. I’m familiar with AUM Cubasis and Chordpolypad and it’s no problem. You can set it to send out on a virtual midi channel and the DAW can receive it. Chordpolypad also works on iPhone and is Bluetooth midi compatible, if even sends out without the need of a third party app if you want to do that.

Cubasis has it’s built in pads too so you can program in your own chord progressions without another app.

BM3 also has its built in chords assignment but of the three options BM3 takes the most work to set up.

  • Awesome! Thanks Lucid

  • Yeah we’re very spoiled on IOS with the insane amount of choices aren’t we? B)

Check out Rozeta by @brambos if you’re going to go all AU. AFAIK there isn’t a chord plugin yet but it’s a suite of midi tools with things like scale quantisation, an arpeggiator and various other tools. Chords would very likely be added to it if they aren’t already.

  • Cool thanks Lucid. So no AU yet for cvcord creativity tools?! Step Poly Unit is AU but that seems like a cool arpregiator

  • StepPolyArp will do the trick... yes.
