  • And that is not counting other goods like geoshred or shoom, etc.

  • But that’s only like one every couple of months .....

  • And the more you buy the less you will create.
But digging around in synths is nice as well.....i always say to me....one day i will use this sound.
At the end i mostly use the same synths (so i‘m as well in the own over 40 but use/need just 1-5).

Having a billion synths fits how I compose: open a synth that catches my interest in the moment, find a sound and tweak or not, then open another one that catches my interest etc.
The initial stages are random and then things narrow down, or focus up, (choose yer term) as I put together phrases and start fitting sounds together. As I go along the piece starts “asking” for timbres and tones. But which synth I use at each stage is very whim based.
There are a few go-to ones but sometimes the whim is to use none of those and open one I bought a long while ago and never used

  • On my top list is Zeeon, iMono/Poly, SynthScaper, Model 15, Infinite, Nave, Sunrizer, Synth One, Synthmaster One, Thor, Mitosynth, Layr, iWavestation and Poison. If I have to choose among those I will keep Zeeon, Synthscaper, Nave, Synth One and Layr (I am crazy about ambient music now). Although tastes changes so are favorite synths

I own over 40 synths on iOS just because I can on an iPad Pro 256GB, because I enjoy learning to program each one with their different interfaces, and because I only have enough money and room in the house for 3 hardware synths! My most used synths are Sunrizer, Zeeon, Nave, LayR, iMono/Poly which give me all the ambient sounds I need, plus all the ones in Korg Gadget. They’re all cheap as chips in iOS format compared to hardware, so why not? I’m a synth maniac, “gotta catch ‘em all!” 😍🎹🎛🎚
The stats in the voting survey are very interesting and seem to suggest that most others who voted are the same as me.

At the price of iOS synths, I dont care too much to blindy buy them, if AUs. I mean, most of my hardware synths, even bought used, cost more than all of em....Happy to support developers in an innovative space. But there are many I bought demoed for 30 mins and deleted. Not because Id give them any real bad marks or review, but just a cost (cpu usage) benefit (sound quality, features, easy of use) decision. So I have 10 in a folder for normal use.

  • I own most of them...and my daw synth collection is ridiculous as well...smh I have a problem

  • I keep saying ‘no more synths’... but Audiokit D1?? C’mon!!!!

  • Maybe if I’m making all the drums from synths I’d do more than 5 synths.
