Transferring user patches between Gadget iOS and Gadget Mac / VST
This can be done, but on a subsequent import patches of the same name are duplicated, leading to a bloated list. does anyone know of a way around this?
Comments
I believe that the duplication happens because KORG have not included any mechanism (file compare) to detect any potential changes in your patches.
You could regularly archive your set of projects, patches, samples and recordings to make sure the programs match the projects.
Archive in terms of moving the previous set of files somewhere else and then transferring the latest version from A to B.
@rs2000 yep I think you're right. the specific issue I'm having is that I'm creating patches on iphone, ipad and mac, so keeping the user patch bank consistent across devices is currently quite challenging!
As a recent convert to Ableton, I'm half-interested in Gadget for Mac. But I just checked the "Korg Shop" to see if maybe the app is on sale. It's not; it's the full $299.
But it has this mildly suspicious message in red next to the price:
Sales of this product have temporarily been suspended. Please wait until it can be made available again.
What might that suggest?
Interesting, I just sent a email off to Korg support asking about this. See if I get a reply or not!
@ExAsperis99 I’d highly recommend the workflow of ‘sketches in gadget’ to ‘final tracks in ableton’ using the gadget VSTs, such a seamless and enjoyable process. Maybe wait for the next sale, I bought mine discounted and remember it worked out at something like £5 per VST which is a real bargain.
Response I received from KorgApp team
“Because Gadget for Mac is under maintenance, we stopped selling temporary.
We'll inform you when we start selling Gadget for Mac again.”
@ruggedsmooth what an odd answer! a piece of software is always 'under maintenance' as long as new versions are being made, bugs are usually fixed and new versions released if there's any issues
