App to sample internet
Is there an app that can sample YouTube video audio?
I’ve done it on my computer using audio hijack but it would be sweet to have it on my iPhone.
So does this exist ?

Just use it as an inter-app audio source in whichever app you prefer to sample in. Works great with Audioshare. I believe it still works with YouTube. Beat Time is also supposed to work.
Beat Time! is what you are looking for.
It is fantastic.
Now, I hope that I have not unlocked some apocalyptic portal by saying its name aloud.
Amplifind disabled the ability to record from YouTube quite awhile back.
Ah, gotcha. Thanks.
You can just create a feedback loop using an ica4+ and record it.
Documents app. Free. Copy, convert, share, chop.
i use apples own screen recording function and then share the file to AudioShare.
interesting , hows the quality?
Built in IOS screen recorder and LumaFusion. Export it out as a wav or mp4. Use Brusfri if you want to clean
up the background noise afterwards
Quality wise the tone is a little muddier than the original but again a little post processing EQ can solve it.
If for some reason that doesn’t work you can also use an online video converter website.
Audio from Screen Recording is crappy - it's not stereo. Maybe ok for voiceovers.
It’s not crappy. It’s not an exact copy but it’s not as bad as it used to be when it first came out.
Screen recording has its limitations though. Recordings of about 10 minutes long for example. You can’t record entire movies, for example. There are better ways to get things off the internet but the recorder is the easiest.
mono only and not good mono.
I use a couple of different sites that allow you to download YouTube videos into Documents by Readdle, then select the video in the camera roll, share, then choose “Sound Copy” as the sharing option...requires MultitrackDAW by HarmonicDog though.
You can save as whatever quality the source is, so stereo is possible. Easily save files to AudioShare or the native Files app.
Link for Beat Time app? Its not appearing in my appstore (Australia)
G’day mate!

Thanks I forgot about this tip because I didn't have iOS 11 yet when I first heard it. Ive used the other methods mentioned but screen recording will be nice for grabbing short bits without having to download a whole movie in some cases.
If you really don’t care about quality the built in microphone and speaker will do the trick as well.
good to know, thanks all
Old school. I run the iphone into an interface, sending audio into the ipad. Record whatever you wish into any app you like. Virsyn Resilice is brilliant!
This method skips all the fuss with copy/paste/file export etc.
Roland Go is my jam. Admittedly it’s just as cheap sounding as the screen recorder but I figure for sampling a little dirt and rawness adds character as long as it doesn’t add a lot of noise.
So ..... I’m about to get beat time. Thanks for all the suggestions. This board is great!
But how does it work exactly? Do I have to download the YouTube video then I can extract the audio?
I’m using an iPhone se
So I did the screen recording thing. I have the video saved in my photos.
Now what do I do? How do I get the audio out of it ?
Ok I just tried it and see the problem, thought I would be able to “open in...” AudioShare but no go.
I created a workflow to convert to audio and open in audioshare, pretty simple just 2 steps
First time I’ve used workflow, pretty cool.
Do i need AUm ?
I just like to use the documents app. Copy whatever URL, open in AudioShare, convert and then edit. Easy.
No it just happened to be running when I took the screen shot.
Sorry. I don’t mean to be an idiot but I can’t fugure out how To do that. Could you explain it ?
I can’t figure out exactly what your doing here
I figured it out I think. This is awesome
