Music Studio Update Priority List

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/music-studio/id328608539?mt=8

We are frequently bombarded with feature requests and created this thread to keep track of them. If you suggest a feature please follow these guidelines:

  1. Read the list below, your suggestion is probably already on the list.
  2. Keep it simple, feature suggestions should fit into one line.
  3. The importance of a feature is defined by how many people request it, not by how important you think it is.
  4. Don't ask for release dates. Follow us on http://www.facebook.com/xewton or http://www.twitter.com/xewton to be the first to know when we have something to show.

Composers who mostly use the piano-roll editor have other priorities than live performers or musicians who connect MIDI gear to their devices. We are aware of that and try to advance in every direction in order to make Music Studio the best mobile DAW in the known universe

  • Thanks for the long post.
I was already following this in the MS Forum.
    A very serious dev, Alex.

Didn't see the auto backup feature add! Accidental overwrites was a major reason that I stopped using the app... Might seem small, but it was a serious SNAFU for my workflow that kept occurring...

This alone calls for a reinstall of the app !

@dj8 Auto backup is in high priority section.

  • Hmmm, installed and played w/ this and I don't see any major improvement re: the saving issue... If I change something in a song, the autosave doesn't save the file. I have to manually save the file, which generates an overwrite warning dialog... This is the same dialog loop that caused me problems in the past.

IMO, a save button should simply save, not bring up a dialog box... Less confusion and less chance for error accidental erasures, accidentally not saving, and overwrites... If I'm missing a setting for to activate the autosave or shorten the duration for it, please let me know.

In any case, Music Studio is a generous all in one DAW app. I'd rather use the zillion apps I've picked up w AudioBus and IAA to get, I think, better sounding, instrument parts.

So the life cycle of app update elation in a mere hour or so :-) Looking forward to my iPad Air update where all my apps can happily live together as one on a larger storage unit.

Yes, @mgmg4871, I was so excited above that I think it sounded like I thought the left the feature out. :-)

I was glad that they included this in the update. But, it doesn't seem to work? (I discussed in my other post above.)

  • I think he means it'll be in a later update, but not too much later

  • @dj8 This is a priority list. Not actually updated yet.

  • Ahhh, that would explain it LOL. Thanks for clearing that up @mgmg4871 &@Ian. Will check it out again when that part of the update gets released :-)
