Ableton push

  • Possibility of it being a stand alone unit is less than zero I expect though, if NI hasn’t been tempted with all their experience of building hardware I’d be surprised if anyone else without history of stand alone units was to make one.

  • Less than zero is pretty low :(

I say there is a reasonable chance but maybe in 2019. Should find out next week.

  • AKAIs software was designed from the beginning to be able to run standalone & desktop and it's far from fully featured DAW.
Live even without Max would have to be crippled down to the point where it wouldn't make sense to release it. So, IMO standalone push isn't going to happen any time soon and without standalone functionality there isn't much else one could ask for.
On the other hand I think Ableton is planning to address mobility.
According to a recent hint from @Tarekith something coming to iOS.
I could imagine some kind of Live for iOS + Push as a mobile solution.

I wish but I don't believe there is live for ios this year.

  • I wouldn't expect Live functionality.
    Instead starting with something simple:

    • 8 audio track + 8 scenes + few basic effects (Push compatibility)
    • IAP more tracks
    • IAP more fx
    • and then as iPads getting more and more capable midi + instruments + m4l

This issue with ios live is price. How can Ableton possibly find a good price for a ios app without degrading the flagship PC/MAC software?

Pretty much the same outlook for a standalone push, 8 audio tracks/ 8 midi and Ableton only effects.

  • Speculations speculations... oh how I love reading speculations ☺️

I couldn't resist what with Ableton Loop coming up soon.

  • Not much so far... :(

  • Nope, not looking good this year.
