Great idea, and result!
Would be even more fun if the app could randomly select two sounds on an init preset and you had to program a Sound with those two lol
Rad!
It kind of can, with some human encouragement. “PCM Roulette” as those of us without girlfriends or the hopes thereof call it.....
Try this: load ‘Init PCM’ > set layer balance: 50 > layer 1 and 2 volume: 50 > then give a swift flick/swipe to the instrument selector and watch it land on your random destiny > do that for both layers then craft you a sound from there.
Sounds fun, I might give that a try.
Seeing RSL adjusting the delay time makes me wish it was a possible lfo destination...
Yep the delay is so smooth, reminds me of old Boss DD3 pedal. Agree would be nice lfo destination
@RedSkyLullaby So, do you start out with an idea of the sound you want to achieve or just improvise? Because it looks fluid like a guy who has been sheddin' his scales for a long time! Great fun to watch and hear.
@kinkujin
This is my opinion on preset making and why I only do it for fun:
It really becomes a fast starting experience making presets after a while. I made 50 for the first Soundfest and 85 for the second. Most in next to no time. The real time involved is in the minute tweeks that the pro guys such as @RedSkyLullaby and @brice will do to get sounds just right for sound packs (sure these guys will tell me if I’m wrong)
I’m afraid I get kinda bored after a while and just say it’s done
Will try that later once I’ve half finished my latest masterpiece lol
It's not quite so random for me though, it keeps repeating the same sounds, my answer was to hand it over to my little boy, he's uncertainty principled, hereditary I'm sure.
I bought this app and did not realize it was not yet AUv3...no biggie, I will wait for the update...
Yeah, it can sometimes be predictable. I’m not very good at inventing games....but do try this > spin it once then again in the opposite direction but look away from your screen before you do. That’s almost guaranteed to generate some better randomness for you.
My sister (who is a Probability Professor in Malaga) says all you need is an olive-skinned boy with a very long tongue.
I had no idea what sound was going to be when started. Usually that is what I do except if I have made 50 pads and 1 bass and 1 lead then I get a bit more methodical to even things up
