Sampletank, midi flow spiltter, midi flow adapter, audiobus 3, nov 2018

Hello, just bought igrand ilectric and sampletank together. Want to know how to use them with audiobus and midi splitter so that I play one instrument from each off the same midi controller. I have managed to set this up for ilectric and igrand with the midi flow adapter. Can't get sample tank to stop sounding for the specified key range. I have turned on and off background audio and played with the midi channels. I could not find an option to turn off core midi in sampletank. sampletank just always plays... also any way to set this up without using the midi flow adapter so that I can see the little picture of the app in midi flow splitter instead of just the adapter app and thus know what instrument (app) is what. Thanks a lot for any help!

  • the fastest way to go about might be to switch to SampleTank‘s multi instrument view (the button on the top left) and set your key range there (the button next to the mixer button lets you set splits and layers)

  • I think you are right, brianvoll, that you cannot turn off coremidi in Sampletank which means Sampletank is getting the data directly from your midi source and noth through Splitter. I think nick is right that the best way to go about it is to use Sampletank's in multi instrument or Live view so you can control midi channel and also the key range. Since you would rather set the key range in Midiflow you might have to split your incoming notes to separate channels. I do that with Midiflow "original" outside of Audiobus and have all my data come in channel 1 but then have Midiflow change the channel for me and then make sure my other apps are listening to the correct channel. I wonder if Midiflow Channels would work for you as I think you can have MF Splitter on your midi route go to Channels and change the midi change and then have Sampletank in Live mode just listen to that newly assigned channel.
