Loop recording inside AUM possible?
Is it possible to record inside AUM in a looper style? I would like to add different Instrument layers while playing. Recording into files and adding a new file player seems to be to static for my workflow. Thanks for help!

nope, to able to record and loop audio in AUM realtime would be awesome. Even 8 bar loop would be fun. An AUM node designed for recording and looping which can be added to a channel would be interesting.
You could use something like RE-1 tape machine, which is AUv3.
I really like RE-1 but an AUM internal recording/playback node would be extra useful.
Yeah, would be nice. Especially since all the recordings would be easily saved in Audioshare..
yep, we get to keep that consistent AUM/Audioshare workflow plus for me, internal sample rate, 32 bit float recording would be consistent. Some auv3 apps work differently.
I had made a proposal to GTL developer @jmarshallgtl since there is a common demand and maybe a niche hole in the ecosystem... take a look (any comment and feedback will be appreciated)

Don't let confuse you the title. Inside we are discussing AUv3 possibility.
Nice! I would prefer an internal AUM node so audio looping would be built into the app itself. would be very elegant and intuitive this way I feel.
@[Deleted User] yup for AUM users will be the way to go for sure.
Maybe @j_liljedahl could join us and share thoughts...
Nope. Many here hoping for this possibilty. The ways of doing this now are not conducive to workflow by any means. Its almost funny that this operation isn’t easily available because its super useful when making music.
Please an audio looper or real-time midi sequencer within aum (via internal or au app) 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes! Watch this video to see how you cn keep the loop going and switch instrument inputs:

It makes me wonder is this approach (splitting off a route to a bus) can work with other Looping apps as well.
I don't have any other app (except maybe Kozmonaut) that can sit in the FX slot in AUM and provide Looping. So, RE-1 seems to be it unless someone knows of another Looping option that can work in the FX slot or maybe accept AudioBus channel input.
Any ideas?
Of course, a real Looping performer would want pedal operation to consider it a valid Looper use case. Reaching out and tweaking controls in the AUM GUI doesn't really fit the use case but this is more of an "overdubbing" capability with multiple selectable/input lanes.
your best bet is still re-1.
Hmm...I've recently been experimenting with the same channel configurations but with reslice. Can RE-1 record a stereo signal? Or would it be dual mono or just sum to mono?
