Best iPad app for warping? Ableton alternative

Hi all,

As I get further into iOS production I’m looking for a DAW that will help me with my re-edits.

Essentially looking for something similar to Ableton where I can drag in full tracks and warp them to a certain speed and get them in time.

I’ve got BM3 and love it for production but the time stretching isn’t what I need. I’m looking for something that will let me swing a snare or beat back in time using something similar to warp markers.

I’ve Auria Pro has this feature - does anyone have experience with it?

Thank you!

Auria Pro and MultiTrackStudio both do this.
I’ve used both to good effect

Maybe IMPCPro 2, if anyone owning it could vouch for its stability. Still on the fence about it.

I'd avoid anything and everything Retronyms. They force people to use the 16-bit/44.1kHz format as it we're still living in 2011. Auria and Multitrack Studio are so much better.

  • Is there any video showing how to do time warping (using markers) for some part of the audio track in MultiTrackStudio?

  • Now you can do warping (time stretching) in Koala Sampler with a few algorithms to choose from.

Thanks for the idea. I've tried it just yet and it worked quite well also using "markers" via the new auto-chop function:

    Steps:
    1. Set the right extent via the time-strech function
    2. set markers and create single parts via auto-chop
    3. combine the single parts within a sequence through the piano-roll editor
    4. Export as audio

Worked and was more fun than in Ableton (and a bit slower as well tbh ;)

    Glad I could help.

Actually Koala sounds a lot better than time stretching in hardware MPC One for example, which should be more or less an industry standard. We are very lucky to have software like Koala.. and almost for free!
