AU midi and Auria Pro (sorted)
Is it still meant to work? Put AP back on my iPad and can’t seem to get Rozeta baseline working. Sure I used to do this? Or am I just going mad lol

Last time I tried it I couldn’t get it to work the way I would expect, which is being able to hear it trigger an instrument when the transport is running. I couldn’t get it to work after trying different configurations, but it did record the midi. After recording I had to either re-route the track or move the midi clip to another track in order to hear it. Since I can’t work that way I gave up.
It did used to work didn’t it?
I never got it working correctly so I can’t say.
Well thanks for letting me know it’s not just my stupidity at fault lol
You’re not mad or stupid (or at least your question doesn’t prove that you are.
). How to do it is just unintuitive, and undocumented as far as I know. Here’s whatcha do:
You should now be able to hear playback, as well as record the midi from the plugin on it’s track as well as the audio.
Thanks for that. Have got it playing but not recording the midi so far....back to finding my fault lol
Have it sussed now. Thanks again.
@wim It kinda works, Ruismaker as insert on an audio track receives the midi send by Xox - BUT only the first note. If two notes (pads) are triggered at the same time, for instance kick and snare, then Ruismaker only plays the kick.
So this work-around only works for monophonic midi au‘s - I verified this behaviour by sending polyphonic chords from Cells to a Zeeon instance, only one note was playing at a time.
If one records the midi of the midi au sender to its midi track, only a monophonic version of the output is recorded - AND there is a timing issue, the not recorded on the grid, but a little bit later. Even later than the audio event that results of the midi, which i verified by recording 15 kicks (and others hits that were ignored) and a pause and the resulting Ruismaker audio track with a short kick sound.
.
@Fruitbat1919 The monophonic bassline should at least work
@Fruitbat1919 For recording of the bassline mini, you need to put bassline track into into record mode and the track‘s midi input has to be set to ‚all‘
Do you also get the timing offset for the recorded notes ?
I also did not yet check if both the sender and receiver are ‚time-shifted‘ against other tracks with direct instruments.
I hoping any new DAWs make sure AU midi is baked in from the off.
Good catch. That’s rather disappointing that after all this time better support isn’t there yet. Oh well.
If we look at the big 3 (Auria, Cubasis, BM3), none of them have got AU midi well baked in as yet.
I love the other two but Cubasis is a clear winner in the AUv3 midi DAW battle. No contest really atm.
I used to think of Cubasis as the last to catch up but Ive change my opinion. The‘re blazin’
Thanks for this thread, I had forgotten how to do this as well. The Auria version of AU midi is so half-assed I assume it must be due to Auria coding limitations/workarounds, so I won't knock it too hard. But man it is just no fun.
