I got about 30 in a user bank, so I don't think there's a limit. You have to dl a collection. I'm not home and can't remember the process, but when I return home I'll post the process here. Matter of fact I have dozens of sounds in 2 user banks.
@sealpt I suspect that it may be better than that because I put in a Rhodes SF2 and I've got 5 different samples. That wasn't done by itunes, but directly using iFile
@mgmg4871 that would be great
I was using winzip and it would transfer them to "documents" but then you have to go though the "gear" and they show up but only can one at a time in the actual user interface. The other downloads were still there, but could only be accessed though the gear and selected for the library. The selected sound had a checkmark next to it, but I am only able to checkmark only one sound at a time for some reason. I have a suspension it has something to do with how you select more than one sound at a time.
Btw I use Goodreader to download and extract the files.
I think it depends on what is packed in the soundfont file. Some have loads of sounds, some have only one or two.
Will give those flows above a go, but here is my original reply from developer..
In bs-16i, there are 4 slots for loading sf2 files. Each slot can be assigned one file, and 4 slots is named as Library #1, #2, #3, #4.
So if you have two sf2 files (A.sf2 and B.sf2 for example), please assign A.sf2 to "Library #1", and B.sf2 to "Library #2".
bs-16i loads sf2 files to device memory (RAM), but device's RAM size is limited.
Of course, I'd like to expand according to the specification of future Apple products.
Its a nice app, with some cool features...record midi to Wav etc.
Another thing though....I had a very quick test early morning at trying to sync it to Loopy somehow with midi clock....I wasn't having much luck.
Anybody have success with that?
When he refers to 1 file, im sure that can mean a collection. Many of this files come with an entire GM bank with 127 sounds.
Maybe that is the thing. I only tried it with a few sounds and they were singles. I'll try again when I get more time. Thanks for the info guys.
That's what I said... wasn't it? Lol
Lol, I thought I heard it somewhere.
Yes, what Paul said! Perhaps if you only had a colourful avatar you might stand out more
Does anyone know if there's a tool to combine multiple .sf2 files into one?
There is a Viena editor for sound fonts which allows if I remember 128 sounds in a bank. This is from soundfonts.com.
I have a load of soundfonts and. I have loaded over 250 onto my ipad 4 using 650mb.
There are some great emu soundfonts libraries with proteus module sounds etc look out for them on eBay.
It wold be useful if bs16i supported folders for the soundfonts library.
@thatsRaynor Lol, look who's talking.
There's some links in this thread to the tools you'll need, at least for a PC, that is.

I've been using SF2Patcher to assemble multiple soundfonts for Bs-16i, but don't make a mistake, as you can't remove one once it's in. Soundfont Librarian probably can, but I haven't spent any time on it yet.
Could you guys maybe make a dropbox folder with soundfont collections that we can load into bs-16i? There are no tools for mac. Those that exists are only powerPC compatible and it's been a long time since macs switched to intel. I'd be interessted in acoustic fonts, but I'm sure there is an audience for everything, so really any patch with 127 soundfonts in them that can be loaded into bs16i would be useful.
Just make one and make it public, people will drop their stuff in it.
You don,t need any tools for Mac. just search for Soundfonts, download them if they are .sf2 (some are .sfark and not compatible) . Then hook your iPad to iTunes and drag them over to the bs-16i app in file sharing. Next time you launch bs-16i, they will be there. There are plenty of soundfont links in this thread.
Just be careful if someone is thinking about sharing soundfonts as you may be breaking agreement with the soundfont author/distributor.
Most are zipped or .rar. You can unzip/unrar them using goodreader, or whatever and import directly into bs-16i without the need for iTunes.
Yes, I find Goodreader as the most convenient way to access and unzip soundfonts. Goodreader has it's own browser, so the first 2 steps can be done from within Goodreader. To share these soundfonts, dropbox is a great idea. If a dropbox account is not opened before I get off work, I will open one and share the psssword. I guess we would have to open multiple accounts due to size limits. Let me know your thoughts.
@Ian and Morris, i too use Goodreader or iZip to open these files but @nielsjansendk was asking for Mac Tools and I can't figure out what tools he is looking for or thinks he needs.
I just explained the technique for when using you desktop/laptop, of course the most efficient way is to do it direct on the iPad.
Thanks for your adding this.
@AkaMarko gotcha. Misunderstood what his need was.
Question on the bs-16..
I'm big on attempting to get natural sounding sequenced acoustic drums. The important thing (apart from patient sequencing or midi loops) is that different samples are used for the same drum dependent on velocity. Drumjam can do this but the drum kits are limited. Can bs-16, give me this with the right soundfont?
tldr: can bs-16 do velocity dependent samples?
Yes it can.
How?
After rereading the question, I thought at first checkrath was just asking if bs-16 had velocity sensitive keys.
.
I bought it yesterday.. Nice app!
@mgmg4871, apart from velocity-sensitive keyboard, different samples are used for different velocities . So, yes!
@simon, thanks for the link
