Is it possible to import samples into Gadget Abu Dhabi without the markers resetting?
Because it’s driving me nuts. I was trying to have just a single sample on each of several Abu Dhabi’s- but every time I change a sample the jailhouse bars are up.
Comments
Save the preset??
I can’t see how to save the preset- I can save the pattern. I can import a new sample.
I want to have no markers- or have them all to the right hand side- and be able to change the sample without the bars re appearing.
I don’t think it’s possible, same thing with Reslice when you import a sample markers are automatically placed. I agree it’s not the best option.
Thanks- I thought that might be the case- there goes my whacked out live resampling experiment with Abu Dhabi.
you could always try to confuse it by renaming the new sample to exactly the same as the old one , manually importing the new one and adding xxx to the start of the old one if you want to keep or just overwriting it??
haven’t tried it, but there’s a vague possibility it might work?
Just use the Zurich gadget
It’s a good idea - but I would struggle to get this to work I think- thanks
yeah, it’s not exactly a ‘convenient’ workflow!
Apparently Abu Dhabi doesn’t have the functionality you want either
If you want to change samples per scene you can do so with Zurich
I should have been clearer- I don’t just want to change samples per scene- I want to use all the sample mangling qualities of several Abu Dhabi’s with a single sample in each one, and I was hoping to be able to resample by importing the total output that I made straight back into another Abu Dhabi (without the bar divisions) via Audioshare without stopping Gadget running. I had been inspired to try this after reading the thread about Digitakt being amazing 😀
Try to give us a video maybe? I’m intrigued.
Grooverider or BeatMaker might be better suited for this kind of experimental workflow.
Here is a screen recording of what I was trying to do. For some reason the audio cuts out each time I record it.
Hold on- how do I get it in here? When I click the insert an image (above right) it takes me to my photos- the screen recording is there but it doesn’t show up- it’s only photos. When I try to ‘attach a file’ (above left) it takes me to files app but the screen recording is greyed out and I cant select it. I try to copy and paste from files app- but when I try to paste the only options I get here are ‘select’ or ‘select all’
I think you should just save your presets, that way you can cycle through them to get the effect you want without the marker resetting.
You’re just going to have to plan it out.
If you’re going for something glitchy you might consider Sugarbytes apps Egoist or Effectrix.
OK thanks I think you are right!
Thought I was on it there for the video with split screen drag and drop- but the file size is too big and the file type is not supported - Video.mov. Time to put this to bed I think. If you still want to see what I was trying @LucidMusicInc I can send it to you as emailing it to myself was part of my earlier efforts to get it on here- and at least that worked 👏🏻 ...... It’s fine if you’re not that bothered though - it will never work the way I had hoped.
Cheers
