Quick tip: using Stagelight drum sequencer to control Beathawk drums.

edited November 2018 in App Tips and Tricks

You can route midi from track to track in StageLight. Drum sequencer can be routed to AU pretty easily, and that works pretty well with BeatHawk drums. That’s not as good with Ruismaker even GM enabled, but that could be a feature request made to StageLight team to have different (editable) midi mappings.

Here’s how it works:

Create drum and BeatHawk tracks.

Tap on dent wheel icon to access Drum track options menu and choose « track I/O properties »

Then choose BeatHawk under « send midi to track » option

Choose « send Omni on pads » in BeatHawk settings

Go in BeatHawk browser and add a different drum sample to each pad from 1 to 8, 1 being bass drum in StageLight Drum sequencer. Then create your track in Drum sequencer, load patterns, adjust velocities or even use bigger SL pads and enjoy!!
