Picked up Arturia V Collection 6 for 50% off (sale is expired now ) Came out to little more than $12 a synth.

really, it's not even Black Friday yet how could it have expired?

Maybe this will help... Bax are doing V Collection 6 synths for £172...

They've also got the Roland SE-02 for £328 if anyone is interested

  • Novation website has the Circuit Monostation on for $299 - very tempted. https://store.focusrite.com/en-gb/categories/featured/monthly-promotions

  • Or £260 if your in the UK

Considering I paid £250 for a second hand one that is a very good price

    https://www.scan.co.uk/products/novation-circuit-mono-station-grid-instrument-analogue-paraphonic-synthesizer-sequencer-velocity-sen

  • Sort of desktop related - I just picked up another Samsung 500GB EVO SSD from Amazon - I bought one in May and boot from it via a cheap external caddy and USB 3 connection. This one is now nearly half the price I paid for the last one - under 70 quid.

They have 20% off Launchpad MKII and Mini too.

  • So glad my former appaholism hasn’t been replaced with some other consumer ailment. (smuggly leaves thread to look up how to cook meth)

  • For anyone looking for saturation/amp modeling plugins, Kazrog has 40% off for Black Friday: https://kazrog.com/2018/11/22/black-friday-cyber-monday-2018-sale-40-off/

Can’t recommend their stuff enough for everything saturation. For guitar stuff specifically, I have yet to find another line that does this good a job with touch responsive low-mid gain tones.

I’m personally super tempted to pull the trigger on Tim Exile’s SLOR at 30% off. I love resonators and the workflow on this one, including morphing capabilities, seem like bliss... 🤔

Update - they've dropped the price to 62 quid, and the nice people from Amazon said that although the price had dropped since I bought it, they'd refund me the difference.

Nice deal. I‘m thinking about the Samsung T5 SSD (extern) with 1TB or 2. My 2 T3 are full!

Yeah my other one is almost full, so I'll use the second drive for file storage. Be handy too for when (if) I get a Mac Mini. The T5's are a good price too:

I have an SE-02 I picked up used (virtually new) for the price they're selling new ($400). It's been a month and I'm still learning it - spending more time on it than anything else and making no tracks. It's amazingly flexible and can make a huge variety of sounds, from dirty to dreamy (as much as a monosynth can). Sonically, I'd say it's a little more "dry" in terms of harmonics than, say, a Moog. Which for me is actually really nice, since that makes it easier to manipulate the sound on the PC with effects. It's my first hardware synth, and one main reason I bought it is to better learn synths so I don't always have to rely on presets. It has a good sequencer built-in, too, and you can parameter lock one value per note.

Most people and most videos have the SE-02 playing acid bass gritty noise. Check out what else you can do with it (wish these were my songs! i aspire to reach these levels): https://youtu.be/B0KUJQkcbWU

    https://youtu.be/X2KnRMukzCE

I considered a monostation, but figured I could always add a more complex hardware sequencer in the future if i wanted and to get a better synth first rather than compromising on both. That said, I really really was tempted by the monostation (the Bass Station II is also a better synth, esp. with latest paraphonic update, but, again, no sequencer like that).

Not sure how conversion rates work out but Saturn is €65.60 at pluginboutique (possibly cheaper?). It's an unbelievably good plug-in:
    https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/30-Distortion/925-FabFilter-Saturn

EchoBoy's amazing too, but you might decide that you want the whole SoundToys rack...

I expect you'll like whatever you get, since you made the list :)

man the se-02 stays on the periphery , went for the beh clone myself not too long ago, but the Roland is damn nice with that sequencer and preset storage

Got a message from Propellerhead that I can "unlock" the Europa app for $4.99. Thinking about it.. Worth it?

    Yo Lady.
The sounds of Europa is fantastic. But the interface is really bad. Tera Synth like, only worse, with endless scrolling to get to the different panels. I hate to use it, but love the sound... Hovewer, is choose Thor over anything, so... :)
But for that price I’d buy it anyway, just to have something to get frustrated over

Yeah the Boog sounds great from what I've watched online. The Roland is "cleaner" sounding which can be a pro or con - it's also not a Moog D clone... More of a close cousin. It also borrows from the Arp and some other vintage synths (to a much lesser degree). I can't imagine a synth with no presets 🤪, sequencer, etc. But the Roland is decidedly smaller and the knobs are close. Works great for my very limited space, and fits right behind my Ultranova when it's on its stand.

I bounce between Logic, Ableton, and StudioOne
I actually haven’t used it in about a year lol. It has lots of nice features and easy to use but I find the UI pretty ugly. I like it for mixing more after creating in Ableton but this new version it might replace Logic for me.

More hardware: Amazon is selling the 16-pattern Roland Aira TR-8 for $300 (less than the Roland Boutique).
    https://amazon.com/gp/product/B00IGM6D14

That gets you both an 808 and 909 for one heck of a price.

In the end I went with StudioOne4 update, Softube Tape, OrangeTree Hollowbody Blues Guitar
    And a Audio-Technica lp120 turntable

  • I want to list everything I bought but I’m really afraid to leave evidence anywhere on the internet because.... wife.

I've been pretty good this year, trying to reign in spending. But my one desktop indulgence this year was FactorSynth, a machine learning synth as a Max for Live device. It's really great and also glimpse into the future of what'll be possible with this technology. :)
