3 Vocal App Questions
Hi,
Today's first quandary is: is there an app out there similar to Melodyne? I am well aware of vocal processing apps that work like Antares' Autotune (and that Antares recently released Autotune in app format), but those aren't really suited to editing vocal pitch in the manner I need.
Second, is there any audio editor out there that can clean up background noise using a proper denoising technology (i.e. snag a "noise print" and remove the noise using that) and not simply an expander (i.e. all noise below -40dB will be removed)?
Third, what is the best non-vocalive vocal processing app and/or audio editor that can do things like make the voice appear wider without using a chorus effect and other such things? (I'm not too big on Vocalive. It's controls are weird to me (no waveform, a simple rewind, stop, and play transport system, etc.)
A million thanks for your help. You guys are the best.

Pro G will solve your second question (only in Auria)....
Echo pad has a stereoizer effect for your third question.....
Alright Simon, thanks anyway.![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
DaveMagoo, the Pro G is not exactly what I'm looking for.
The type of clean up tool I'm looking for is like the one in FL Studio's (full version) audio editor, Edison. You select a small portion of just noise in a recording, set that as the noise print, then select all, and finally hit "remove noise". It's not a gating technology.
The stereoizer effect is really sweet!
Once again, Echopad to my rescue, heh.
(Speaking of Edison, I believe the type of noise removal method I'm talking about is also used in Izotope's RX3.)
I don't think anything like that for the iPad exists yet....
I did this in Cubase desktop years ago by finding a section of the track that only had the noise on it. Copy that section and invert it. Then duplicating that section align it and mix it with the original thus canceling the noise. I suspect that's what the FL editor is automating for you.
I just got Auria on the iPad and am still learning. There is a polarity flipper switch and I suspect it could be used to accomplish this. With a lot of experimentation.
@Ted, sounds good mate. Then that leads to the question: is there a decent multi-track audio editor out there that can accomplish taking noise, inverting the polarity, duplicating it ad nauseum, and using that to cancel out the noise in a vocal recording?
Auria is my bet. Ask on their forum.

Why not use the gating route with a little reverb ?

I had a chat with the aufx: developer about this very tech. Not sure if he'll create it as he seems to be focussing in real time effects but you are not alone in wanting it! I used to do it in wavelab and cool edit pro regularly. I've since gotten better at capturing less noise but sometimes...
