  • I’m not worried, Stahgelights been around about five years now

  • StageLight represents a musical "Theme Park" (i.e, Disneyland) to me. If you go there a lot the Pass is the only sensible strategy. You'll go more often... It's the happiest place on earth after all. We doesn't want to be Happy and "save money"?

I prefer the great outdoors (using good Inns nearby for the nights).

  • @McDtracy is killin’ it tonight both on here and on the Grooverider ba ETW thread. Lmao!

  • 😂 same here, I prefer to stay off campus!

Most (all, really) software I use on desktop (DAW, vsti) required registration: my email and a signon/password...seems like a norm for big kid software

So true a la Cubase for starters...

  • I got everything of Stagelight. It’s brilliant. I only hope for the addition of AU midi in the future.
Referral to others who register will earn you extra cash, so many email addresses can be helpful :)

You GET me. Now, I'm not sure that's a good thing but I appreciate the feedback.

That selling to your friends for discounts model never worked for me. No friends.

But I did consider spinning up a dozen gmail accounts and getting free money. But I just paid the $'s asked and got a good product at a very fair price on Mac and IOS (iPad and iPhone).

This company looks like they can produce features quickly and have a good viral approach to building a user base. Totally different that the other DAW vendors I see here.

I am curious to see how it holds up building a complex project using AUv3's on IOS and moving it over to OS X for some of the AU FX and Instruments I have paid dearly for there. Addictive Keys Pianos for example. Maybe I'll increase my OS X spend next year because they support both platforms I love and if I find a reason to open Windows in my life I could consider that without feeling like I'm throwing away so much investment.

I forget... does the "Storepass" limit you to a platform or a release version across more platforms?

  • I could be wrong but I think it’s across all platforms.. ha ha you’re right about the friend sign up thing.. creepy.. Baaaad idea

  • I haven’t bought storepass yet but usually I can just open it up without registering . That’s just the first time I think

Afaik they ask you to sign up so your ‘credits’ and purchases from their store can be used on any platform. From using it on iOS I’ve almost earned enough free credits to unlock the Mac version. Login is a bit annoying but worth it for this.

I have no problem to register for a software, even as i don’t like to do so.

But i was in impression, that you realy need to login to be able to use it.
    Like with the Adobe Cloud.

    Is this not so?

I'm curious about this too for some of the same reasons. I've been using ios for sketching things that get finished on a PC. Having a better path between platforms that yields better sketches is all good in my book.

The path to going back and forth between platforms that don't share plugins is audio IMO. That's while I'll be watching how they develop freeze and resampling functionality. It seems to me you want those things to be really convenient to make going back and forth between platforms really convenient.

No, you log in once, and you are logged in every time you start the app automatically. The time it takes is not noticeable because it’s done behind the startup logo :) it’s like a Disneyland cross between cubasis & gadget.
So far I like it, and AU midi will make it irresistible.
