Was excited when i saw that, but only 5 fx.. hmmm
might be testing the waters before adding more, out of the big 3 they've done the least but they do do some cool stuff, they made an app for their Aira modules that lets you kind of design and hot swap out additional modules/features into the one you have via usb from your device to the module that is pretty cool
This definitely interests me, I love video effect apps and very few have audio triggering.
Glad they didnt start with another edm groovebox app.
Roland has potential to make a splash in this field, time will tell if they become a another Korg or another Yamaha.
Cool news! Looking forward to see what Roland can bring to the table.. 👌🎛💕
This new app doesn’t give me any hope for Roland in terms of making music on iOS. They already have a lot of apps on this platform and this one seems to fit the existing theme.
For me, it's a "meh". I know some people will get some use out of this, but I've been hoping Roland would port some of their Roland Cloud synths over to iOS.
I hope so too bout the cloud synths cause that's the only way I'm ever going to get them.. sound canvas is pretty good quality for those familiar sounds
Roland have developed such a mass of experience in the field of digital synthesis and emulation lately. It would be great if they put that knowledge into iOS. Perhaps their knowhow wrt the cloud synths concept has changed their isolationistic attitude a little bit into a "play nice with other platforms" stance
D-50 or bust!
Roland could certainly have a lot to offer if they ever decided to seriously embrace iOS. Or even desktop VSTs. For now, all the good stuff is in the Cloud, and that model doesn’t fly for me.
@kobamoto Thanks for the link. This looks interesting. Not sure if this leans more toward live VJ performance or music vid sequencing (i.e. made previous to performance), but either way it is worth a try. Demo version is free. Fingers crossed.
If Roland ever did come to iOS with music making apps I have no doubt it would be subscription based and stupidly priced. They're legends and no one compares imo, but damn they're so annoying irt downright ignoring what their customers actually want.
I'd just be happy as hell if they "discovered" class-compliant USB FFS! If I could get multi-channel audio from my TR8S I'd be really damn happy!
I love how this is a VIDEO app that they couldn't be bothered to make, you know, a damn video for..."
OMG I‘m old and out of this world. What the h*ll is a cloud synth?
