Small Midi Keyboard

edited November 2018 in Other

Hi
I am looking for a keyboard that has 25-44 keys because I’m disabled and can’t carry stuff that is heavy or long
I don’t need many knobs to control my daw because I’m visually impaired and that confuses me just simple functions is enough
Bluetooth would be great as my ipad pros battery doesn’t last that long but I fear latency and touch sensitivity not working properly.
I’ve looked aroun found the akai lpk 25 wireless the M-Audio Keystation Mini and the ikmultimedia iRig Keys 37 but I don’t know wich is best
Can you recommend me one of them or something else?

    Greetings MorganR82

I have been trying out a few small midi keyboards recently. I love the key feel of the Korg Microkey 37. There is a Bluetooth version of the Microkey called Microkey Air which is also available in a 25 key version. I personally avoid Bluetooth keyboards because I don’t want to deal with replacing batteries, but I don’t think you’ll run into latency issues if you decide to get a Microkey Air based on reports I’ve read on this forum.

I also have a smaller 25 key USB-Midi Korg Nanokey2 that fits in my backpack protected by a CO2CRERA hard case purchased from Amazon. Despite the clacking computer keyboard style keys I love its velocity response. I also enjoy using the Nanokeys for recording drums.

  • So I went to the shop today finally found one that has extensive amount of midi keyboards and got the Akai LPK wireless and I’m happy no latency even when playing fast good touch sensitivity and works fine with ios 12 and iPad pro
