Looking for some help with apeMatrix
Hi
My workflow almost always includes navochord, to riffer and/or steppolyarp and to a synth.
All setup in AUM
So routing goes from navichord to riffer and Navichord and riffer go to a synth, like this the rif follows the chord received from navichord.
Now my question is, how do I set this up in apeMatrix?, I just can’t get navichord to riffer or steppolyarp.
I watched the videos from Daveypoo (wich are great), but just can’t figure it out.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Eddy

I don’t own riffer but “I managed to get spa playing chords from Navichord. Since NC is IAA only you have to route the midi from inside NC to ape matrix. Then you’ll have the midi output exposed in the 5 pin lane inside AM
Thanks for the quick reply
I’ll check it out
I got the rif to follow the chords (thanks to your help), but I can’t get the chords yet
Found it now, added the synth again, maybe there is a better way to get both to one synth like in AUM, but it works, thanks again
I was just wondering the same And if you can run SPA inside Mod step lol
Been working in AUM for a while, but now I want to learn about apeMatrix, my goal is to bring all this into aM, but I think it’s gonna take me a long time (if I ever get there)

Great workflow idea. Just tried it in AUM... Is there any way to do the same sort of thing with AB3 in the MIDI page?
I have no idea, but this forum has so many knowledgeable (is that a word?) and kind people, someone might come along to explain that for AB3 (and in the mean time I can learn about AB3 also, after aM, that’s the next step)
This should do
And thanks again, I guess you used scaler from rozeta, also a good option
I actually just built the midi routing (didn’t even turn on any of the plugins)so I used a couple of place holder for apps missing from my list
Hmm....don't have Navichord, looks like a very useful thing...
Navichord is clever, but more than anything is lovely...
How does it stack up wth the new chordy guys on the block? Looks interesting, as it would (I think) trigger Riffer sequences to follow its chord patterns, but wondering if it's been superceded. Need to make a decision fast as it's still on offer...
Interesting setup, gentlemen! I don't use any of the chord-generating apps myself, so I'm not sure how this would be set up, but it looks like you've solved it.
I'll do my best to answer any specific questions if I can.
Sorry Guv, you'll need smarter help than me. I dont do much more with it than play chords, BUT it has got a lot of clever additions since it was launched I know that...
Does it all sync up in AUM? Come on Boss...
What is this 'sync up' business of which you mutter?
I did just open it in AUM, and then played a chord sequence (connected/playing a patch in Sunriser) and recorded it therein etc.
To be honest it has all sorts of stuff in it at this point that I am probably using 5% of what it can do.
The person to ask would be @navichord but I don't think he's been around lately. I seem to remember our good friend @MusicMan4Christ being a major Navichord cheerleader. Perhaps he might do us the service of chiming in
Don’t worry, just bought it. I don’t have anything for chords anyway.
What I’m interested in doing is triggering a chord, and a Riffer sequence at the same time via Navichord. Just diving in to see if it works...
Update: quick test, yes it does.
HA! Love that. It's like I've had a chicken for years, but just stroke it's head; you've just bought one and have already discovered these things called eggs and are now busy making stuffing
I’d never thought of getting it, but the OP’s question piqued my thing, and I thought I’d have some of that if it works!
I love Riffer, but unless you trigger the key/chord changes manually, it can get monotonous pretty quickly. So I’m using Navichord to trigger Riffer changes for the melody in synth 1, and at the same time get it to play chords via synth 2. When I get a chance to have another play I’ll setup a second instance of Riffer and use that to trigger a third synth with a baseline.
Could probably swap Steppolyarp with Riffer for a similar result.
Hey guys, if you still have any questions, I’ll be around
@JohnnyGoodyear, thanks for mentioning!
Thanks, got it working in AUM with Riffer, and ApeMatrix with Steppolyarp, so it’s doing exactly what I’d hoped. Now I just need to spend a bit of time learning how to set the chords up
