Good info, thanks AndyP. How about the sound packs?
With the packs you get more patterns and presets, ymmv with these, if you program your own synth presets and make your own patterns there is less value in them....
The drum packs however add new kits to the drumbox as well as more patterns.
There is usually a new pack each week, so they can add up over time.
If you like to hit a button and see what happens then having the packs is very worthwhile.
Thanks again! Gotta download this and see if I like it's flow. I don't need another app that doesn't get used. I like the chance to try before you 'invest'.
Getting this app made me not use a lot of other apps I already owned
Wow great ideas guys! Same here, right now I’m using this app as my creativity starter and from there export stems to Stagelight. Then record the whole thing to Stagelight’s timeline. I haven’t done it yet but it’s coming.
What I’m running into though is how to sync start the record in Groovebox so I get a good loop recorded. For some reason I never hit start right at the beginning of the loop in GB. So what I do I just turn on record and let it run but the. Sometimes I overlap. Gonna figure something out today.
I’ve tried it a few times mostly for percussive parts...some nice sample packs in the app.
Instruments muted?
Question guys, should my pack purchases on iPhone also reflect on iPad? Or do I need to buy them again?
No they’ll show up on both. If they don’t, fully quit the app and relaunch. Under settings there’s the option for restore purchases, at the bottom you can just restore all that you haven’t already downloaded.
Ok thanks man! Was able to see them come up on he list after a few restarts.

So this inspired me to grab a few more soundpacks for 99¢ — which, frankly, isn't worth it for like nine presets. But they do sound good.
However, I purchased on my iPhone and the packs aren't showing up on the iPad in the Restore Purchases section. I'd rather not mess around and buy them again. Anyone have experience with this?
EDIT: So I had this open for a few days planning to ask about this, and I finally did, and when I refreshed, @difuzer and @MusicMan4Christ's discussion appeared! One can only hope that my soundpacks will, too.
They will just close and open app a couple times. I had to do it like 3 times then all my packs began downloading on iPad.
Yeah, that's not happening for me. I've quit and restarted the app 10 times. The packs purchased on the phone are not showing on iPad. Maybe it's because I haven't updated to 12.1 on the iPad yet. (Do I want to?) I can't think of any other reason.
help @AmpifyxNovation
So I'm not sure what magic you were dealing in @MusicMan4Christ, but on the AmpifyxNovation page, it says you have to download them again, and then after you "pay," you'll be informed that you already paid and can download for free.
Unfortunately, this means I have to remember what soundpacks I bought before I "buy" them again. Oh, the anxiety!
Awe man I would wait a bit so you won’t get charged twice. I sure didn’t have to buy them again.
The other de facto way to get them to show up would be to delete and download the app again. Unfortunately this would lose any projects unless they had been previously exported. (I did this on my iPhone when packs weren't showing up to get it to work, albeit I had no projects I was in fear of losing)
Version 2.0 is out:
Bring your songs to life with automation. Just hit the record button and move some instrument controls — it’s a simple as that.
This is the biggest update to Groovebox since its launch in 2017. Automation was by far the most popular feature request, and we’re pleased to bring it to you completely free of charge. If you enjoy using Groovebox, we'd really appreciate a review on the App Store. If you find bugs or have any comments, drop us a line at [email protected].
Cool, but we still need a “wrap tail” option for exporting loops.
A few tips on the automation...
If I could make a wish...
...add an option to edit the automation and while editing select between smooth (ie. interpolated) and stopped (grid value) mode...
perfecto!!!
Was really enjoying Alteza on a Groovebox preset then i hit play and ☹️ Forgot the effect applied to the whole mix.
Man really wish this had AUv3 compatibility.
A quick fix but limited workaround .... Send some of your GB to blocs...then you can play them individually.. e.g export your preset you want Alteza on to blocs, then load blocs in AUM alongside GB put alteza on the blocs channel and use GB to play the rest.
If instead of sending to blocs you export them and load them into AUM file players, you are not limited to 1 instance
multi out! haha that’s what everyone saying gb needs and i agree
I’ve been really enjoying the free version for the past few days. I’m going to upgrade to “pro” later today regardless of the response, but I’d like to understand the iap better. So the soundpacks for Poly-8, Minimon, and Retrobass are just presets and patterns? But the Drumbox kits are new sounds/samples? Or could those be created by tweaking the stock drum kit?
Drumbox IAP’s are distinct new sound sets and the main GB IAP is definitely worth it for the added parameters access in general.
Someone mentioned one could modulate the key of the music playing but how?
