Rozeta XY Midi range conundrum

Hey all, I’m hoping you can help me:
I want to use Rozeta XY to modify some of the controls in Ruismaker Noir, but I don’t want it to have the full sweep of 0-100 (or maybe 1-127). Instead, I just want to tweak between a shorter breadth, eg 60-90.

I currently have the following to host these AUs in:
AudioBus
apeMatrix
AUM
Cubasis

Can this be done? I imagine I’ll need an AU midi-tool to do it, but I’m a bit stumped as to which one(s) will do this.

  • Sounds like a job for StreamByter. I have turned on the Geek searchlight. Someone should be along soon...

  • In AUM you can limit the range on the Ruismaker Noir Channel, in the Midi Control section.
Here I have Rozeta XY going to Midi Control.
In the Midi Control editor for the RNoir Track, I have the X controlling the Filter Cutoff.
Match the Midi Channel and CC# (circled in red).
Set the range here (circled in green). I am using 20% - 57% here.

When you send midi cc from XY to Noir in AUM you can set the range to whatever you want. Same with ApeMatrix not sure about Audiobus most likely theres is a way.

:) An ScaleRozetaXY streambyter script is an easy job - but really using it would require the user to setup 8 values (min/max for 4 CCs) until they fit. There are no GUI elements like sliders or knobs in StreamByter, only text input/modification inside the script and then ‚install‘ the script over and over. When saved with the session, recalling restore one‘s work, but the initial trial/error phase could be quite annoying...

So - if there‘s still any demand...

YES!! That’s exactly what I’m looking for! Thank you 😊

Don't forget you can invert that range as well. So you can do cross-fades. (i.e. 0-100 on one, 100-0 on the other...)

I REALLY wish that you could map a curve there. Nothing fancy, just a center point you can drag between the two endpoints to get non-linear mapping... That would be pretty sweet...
