Not sure if this was already mentioned here somewhere
Now this might be a game changer.
I had the Hyperdrive Solo and the 3.5mm port on it was terrible. Could have just been a faulty one but I’d be on the lookout
Hmmm will keep that in mind ty
Was it bad hardware quality or bad sound quality?
Bad sound quality. They are probably using a low quality DAC. There was literally no low end coming from all headphones that I tested. I plugged in the USB C to 3.5mm from apple and immediately noticed a big difference. It sounded way better. Returned the hub and bought something else
Instapass, no low end is a no no
I'm thinking of getting this. Has anyone tried this?

No, but I have this one which is about the same price. Works fine so far with iRig HD, Apogee Mic, Axiom 25, UGreen headphone adapter. Sometimes have to plug the audio devices in in a certain order, but I think that’s iOS, not the hub. https://www.amazon.com/NUBIHUB-Multiport-Delivery-Compatible-Chromebook/dp/B07H982VWX/
It is available for pledging on KickStarter now for $49 (50%) - less than 100 units available now at that price (next slot is $69 and up)

On the fence on this. Got e-mail about signing up.
So, does this ability to transfer data to/from iPad from the SD slots? I more specifically mean does it only transfer photo/video, or can I actually like transfer audio samples to/from file system?
So far, all of the type c hubs that I have work flawlessly, I have an off brand square one with 3 usb3, hdmi out, Ethernet in, and type c charging port so you can still charge while everything hooked up. I do like that hyperdrive mounts securely, but at the same time having everything plugged in and holding it would be weird.
If this does transfer any type of data and not just photos or whatever, count me in.
This is what I have https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/173541201060
This received over a million in pledge against a target of 100 grand. Being shipped shortly to backers.
What are the experiences, is the audio quality of the 3.5 mm port in the hyperdrive on par with the apple usb to 3.5 mm adapter?
HyperDrive has high volume at the lowest setting. They said it was manufactured by another factory and they won't be able to fix it with a firmware update.
Also, HyperDrive is just "hype-drive" - it does not grip on to the iPad firmly and keeps pulling out at a slight pressure. To plug in or out anything into/from it, we need to hold it firmly on the iPad before doing it which is silly. A bad design at Apple side. I exchanged mine for a Gen2 that has low volume at the highest setting (better issue than HyperDrive) and they said they would look into it.
Just get a hub/drive that has a cord which goes into iPad and the hub stays on the desk (not portable but more reliable) or a L-shaped hub that hooks on the corner edge of iPad with a cord that goes into iPad (portable). However, all these hubs/drives have issues and bad reviews from not working as expected to dead hubs.
10 years from now, we'll be laughing at the poor accessory options we had now, "Back then, there used to be a separate headphone jack on iPads, there was no way to use an external storage drive on iPads for a decade and later on, we did not even have a reliable hub/drive to use on iPad Pro for years...". Good job, Apple - you made it!
