lol, I've been following bs-16i for some time looking for a more significant sale and I'd noticed those Christmas sales too. Was hoping for another price cut but with Apple closing down for the holidays today it looks like it's not going to happen anymore.
OR... since bargains are an ongoing thing (even when there's not a holiday), we could have a single ongoing thread called Sales/Bargains/Free or something, and post just the bargains and have another thread just for Sales/Bargains/Free chat. KVRAudio does this, and it helps make it easy for everyone to see the deals, while helping the thread from becoming derailed....
.
Not sure if I want it all in one thread, it can be nice to see a desired app posted on sale immediately once you open the discussions overview ... but six or seven separate threads for all those SessionBand apps...that go on sale together every few weeks or so anyway... ;-p
How about a category instead of a single thread?
.
@Simon, not blaming you at all, and I'm thankful for all your posts.
But, as Morris mentioned when he announced the new Blues app, we all know the drill concerning SessionBand by now...they're price bouncers. They release a new app almost every month and bump down the prices of all their apps during the following weekend.
I understand your reasoning for wanting this, but isn't it going to be to generic. Meaning, when you enter the message board and see a title with a link, you're more likely to want to read the description, check it out and purchase. Rather than saying, let me head to page 4 of this ongoing thread to see what might be on sale now.
(Unless there's going to be someone in charge of constantly updating the thread title to include the list of apps)
.
Note that AppZap is great for finding what's on sale and pricing history.
An the winner is...LOL
Will be announced next Christmas : )
I like the idea of having a separate category for free apps and apps on sale. That way individual threads can be posted and everyone's happy.
One thread would be too long. What happens when the latest freebie or price drop is on page 15? An endless scroll or mouse clicking. Regulars will know it is on the last page I know.
One thread would work if it is done in reverse order; latest being on page one. Currently, latest comment or entry is on the last page.
The current way where people post about new reductions or freebies is not to be sniffed at :-) as it works very well. Some people can smell the price drops in advance and it also makes for very interesting banter when such a post is created.
I highly recommend AppShopper for all you bargain hunters. Just add all the apps you want to your wishlist and wait for it to tell you the app is on sale.
