😂😂!!
Caustic is really good. You can also use its midi to control your favorite synths, should you want to do so. Just a thought...
Great video you made @SlowwFloww in deff really liking that chopping method, I make ambient, slow tempo music with drums, non acoustic drums so I'll have to look in and see how it plays in that land...
Ha love the description @kinkujin , I'm not totally against the walled gardens, as long as they can do most things I and export stems, I can finish em up later, deff sounds good
I love krft, it's really really fun and it works great!!! I wanna make a bunch of stuff with it
Well Modstep is a host but feels like a daw to me, while you have to use your auv3s and iaa stuff to make sound ( it has a synth and sampler internally but I haven't really dug into them ) it lets you create parts, patterns, clips in a linear but also non linear form, it's like a huge canvas where you can make parts and sketches and then decide just by pressing on them the order you want them to play in.... With AUM and Modstep working together it really is my most productive means to finish songs and sketch ideas...
Cubasis is too many steps for me to do simple things, I hate the sample / audio organization, and I don't think that linear style work flow is executed well... For making songs within cubasis is not fun.... The only good thing about it for me would be to mix and master audio clips in a linear fashion, but I prefer bm3 to do that honestly
Is there a way to join these clips together in a mix-down instead of playing clips on the fly? Really enjoy the app.
My ultimate iPhone 7 Plus workflow for my own musical needs:
DAW workflow: GarageBand feeded with various AU instruments and effects, apeMatrix IAA, Audiobus/Gadget/MF Keyboard, Blocswave IAA/Midi Link Sync, Audiobus/ApeM/Rozeta. Stagelight can be an alternative when it will be finished/complete.
Stems production workflow: Audiobus/Blocswave with same sound feeding apps and Xequence for midi stuff, with Launchpad exports / Ableton Live Set exports to Live laptop or GarageBand iOS. Can’t wait for Photon here!!
Live workflow: Audiobus/AUM/Loopy/Midifire or Ableton Live with BlueBoard for live looping, and AUM/Reslice/KRFT for live arrangements making with KRFT knobs/LFO used for AUM mixer/AU parameters triggering. Also use TouchOSC for this.
To me, ultimate workflow is something personal related to what I want/need to achieve musically. I don’t think there is any DAW or app combination truly superior to another, except for my needs.
OK... Looks like I need to check out ModStep, KRFT, and re-vist GarageBand.
ModStep looks like it's not very current with IAA but not AU support but if I use it as MIDI Data Central maybe that's just not important. Maybe another MIDI Master composing tool?
KRFT $15. Looks like it has MIDI Piano Roll as the key component. I still haven't used a piano roll in any app so probably not need for me.
I have every other major DAW already but haven't spent the $30 for NS2 and will just drool until I see a sale.
But GarageBand keeps getting promoted by JanoSax and his creations are in my lane so... gotta dig deeper without spending a dime. But... I like to buy apps and NOT use them not find unused Apps I could learn. I think I don't want to learn any apps.
Yes. That's it. Try and discard if it stops being fun. They all do.
Garageband or Cubasis then exported into BM3. Pls Apple, stem export!
Usually I'll make stuff in GB on the go, then at home use routemidi to replace with hardware synths and audiotrigger record that to pads in BM3.
Lately network sync/midi between idevices has been impressing me. My phone is now part of the rig!
FYI It does support AU. In fact for AU only compositions it's probably the most stable midi seq if you are into this non linear approach.
Edit: True it's dated, no AU MIDI... but next version is on the horizon.
Absolutely and you can use Modstep with no synths loaded into it at all, just routed to Aum as the synth / effect host and then you're really cooking with oil
Hahah I feel u , I buy all the apps then ignore em 😂😂😂
Krft is really fun, but it is piano rool based, but you can play it in.
Modstep is the king imo for creating, I love it, it's seamless with Aum
Primary:
NS2, Stagelight
Gadget and Cubasis 2
Secondary:
AUM, Audiobus 3, Apematrix, Audioshare and Dropbox
I may start seeing very little, if any, of my other DAWS if NS2 gets audio tracks/track freeze and irons out a few of the issues.
AUM, Xequence, AB3, ApeMatrix, and now Stagelight. As far as I can tell at this point of having Stagelight for a couple of weeks now it’s amazing. I was way scepticule at first thinking oh great another app that I have to have that will probably end up not being used again. I was wrong by a long shot. It’s completely changed my workflow for the better, it’s super fun and not a headache or a chore to use at all. Super fast, fun, and it’s virtually bug-less. Highly recommended. I say this being a long time Cubasis user and this pretty much has taken the place of my beloved, Cubasis. Top stuff IMO.
