Nice! Just in time before the AppStore shut down (or did that already happen?).
It happened at about 3pm eastern time ('merica). I had an update that has been waiting a week and it still didn't make it. So how is zMors? I'm not a synth guy but I've been getting into them for some other work I'm doing. Currently hooked on Sunrizer and Thor... does it compare?
In a word...No
I wouldn't compare. zMORS has it's own distinct character, which is what I like. It has 25 parameters to alter the sound, so you can get some quality sound. Automation is a bonus.
You can have 4 automation tracks to each of the 4 sequencers, and use any of the 25 parameters.
Sunrizer and Thor are powerful synths with a lot of capability for sound creation. zMORS is more of a cool one-trick pony. It doesn't do what those other synths can do, but zMORS can do some really cool sequenced sounds. Think of it as a synth with four dual-oscillator pairs with a simplified form of StepPolyArp plus automation for each oscillator pair. You press a key, it all plays in sync with the tempo. You press another key, and the entire thing is transposed to the next note. It is polyphonic. It can be multi timbal. There really is no other synth that can do what it can do. I like it for these reasons--it is very complementary to the other synths you mentioned, with very little overlap. It is not a fat sounding synth, but is good with SEQ type patches.
Ah ok. I'm looking for synths to be controlled by MIDI input and just play what I'm playing so I guess I'll pass for now.
