BASSalicious Christmas Sale - Who need it for what kind of music?
BASSalicious is on Sale these days and many people say this is THE Synth Bass, there is nothing better on IOS!
Is it so?
I’m wondering if BASSalicious can be used for different styles of music. If you are in ambient, chilled or atmospheric music would you use BASSalicious? If you are in Rock or Blues do you think BASSalicious will be a good choice for a good Bass?
All demos I’ve seen on YouTube don’t inspire me to buy BASSalicious because of the specific funky style of music in the demos. I’m afraid that this app is an specialist for some specific music only? I think it’s great for “Black Funky Music” but what about other music styles?
So my question here is: who is using BASSalicious in projects in what kind of music? 🎶😎
Please help me to decide to buy this app or not!
Thanks a lot for feedback and suggestions! 😊🙏

This is a synth bass. For rock and blues, you would want bass guitar. This ain’t that.
That’s true!
Sorry, Rock and Blues is not a really good example for different music. Please forget it, let’s talk instead of different types of electronic music where we can use a Synth Bass. 😎
For rock and blues, it can do organ type sounds pretty well.
If you try to use it for bass in rock or blues (in place of bass guitar), it may come out sounding prog-ish.
To me, It is better for funky styles since it can produce more in your face or attention grabbing bass synth sounds. It has tons of buzzy, fuzzy, modulating, expressive types of presets. And it pumps out nice low frequencies.
Well ... the presets do have a funky character, and if you start off with those you’re more likely to end up with funky sounding basses.
However, it’s basically just a four oscillator synth with a boatload of available waveforms. So, aside from the filter, character doesn’t really come into the equation as much as you might think, and even then it’s how you use the filter that counts. I can make almost any kind of synth bass I want in it.
I find I can dial in most synth bass sounds I’m after, and can create lead-bass hybrids if I want. But, given that most times I shop through presets, then modify the closest one to what I’m looking for, yes, I do use it more on funky tracks than others. In general I tend to start with the apps that are tucked away in my mind as having presets closest to what I’m looking for.
There is a BASSalicious 2 coming. I don’t remember if it will be a free upgrade or a new app. If it’s going to be a free upgrade, based on the demo, I’d grab it while on sale. The demo for the next version was juicy. If it will be a separate app, then I would wait.
It's all about the funk!
I think is going to be a free upgrade with an IAP for new presets if I recall
If so, I would nab it now. That demo was bomb.
