New app? Easy Synthesizer Piano Studio

Saw this new app. Looks pretty familiar, no? :D

Easy Synthesizer Piano Studio by M. Mohsin
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/easy-synthesizer-piano-studio/id1445551232?mt=8

This has really weird terms as far as pricing goes. $7 upfront, but read on and find it says it’s free for three days, then a $3.50 subscription fee kicks in.

For me, if I was willing to pay this, I would rather just send it to @analog_matt and the AudioKit team. B)

  • yeah, i saw another one of those audiokit clones as well. free with ads and subscriptions... that is the disadvantage of open source I guess... people just rip the free and open product off to turn it into money.

  • Says 7.99 euros in the Cypriot iTunes Store ( but free in the description notes)... Subscription?.... Nope!.... Don’t & Won’t do Subscription at all.... With any apps... Would buy IAP to an app, even if I didn’t use it to support a dev, but not Subscription...

  • Interface looks familiar.
I mean, at least change the name so it doesn't say "AudioKit Synth One" 😆

  • Hope @brice engages the ambulance chasers...

  • its not the first audiokit clone for cash but this really should be taken down.

  • Daaaamm.its that’s audiokit synth one.😂😂😂😂 @Matt_Fletcher_2000 you need to Sue their ass 😂😂they have no shame to even include Brice and other developers Sound patches 😂😂😂😂😂

I’m wondering how it is possible to offer exactly clones of Audiokit Synth One?
This guy offers two clones in the AppStore, one with subscription pay and another with iaps. Here you have to unlock every single feature.

That is very bold and impudent and should not be possible.
His business model creates bad karma!

Sadly we can not rate and comment these apps without buying them... 😎

This has happened several times, It’s like whack-a-mole

  • Creative, modern ways to earn income... :#

  • I find a lot of 'me too' apps annoying, but this approach plainly sucks >:)

Sooner or later this App Store submission rule usually catches up with people:

    4.1 Copycats
Come up with your own ideas. We know you have them, so make yours come to life. Don’t simply copy the latest popular app on the App Store, or make some minor changes to another app’s name or UI and pass it off as your own. In addition to risking an intellectual property infringement claim, it makes the App Store harder to navigate and just isn’t fair to your fellow developers.

Those who do get caught can get all their earnings from Apple frozen, and, their developer account banned for life. It's a dangerous game.

On a positive note, most people who use open-source code are appreciative and use it correctly.

We don't let copycats get us down. We keep pushing on and writing code for the greater good.
