  • Huge respect for the Dev's who continued to expand their apps, and have them grow - this was a stand out of 2018.
As the year panned out, I found myself losing interest in probably 90% of the apps I have (including recent ones)
The Dev's who make apps that don't evolve ("take it or leave it") have a very narrow business model moving forward, and interestingly, a lot of these were the apps that eventually bored me.

My 2018 saw me continue to invest heavily in Reaper, and customize it so that I have my own DAW - tailored to my needs, and the result is SO far ahead of the Logic/PooTools "standard" - never going back :|

PolyPhase, MidiEcho, AUM, Riffer, GesturementPro, SpaceCraft, Senode, ChordPolyPad, MidiMorphosis all had great relationships with my studio.

2019 will be the year that I will not purchase much unless it is a great standout creative playground.
No more synths and drum machines for me - dime a dozen

Maybe we are at the point where the majority of apps are disposable ?
The IOS ecosystem they reside in changes so quickly that I cannot trust that an app I want to master and put heaps of time into going forward will be even working in 18 months time?

  • So many... not in a position to judge

(Lol: i was thinking, what is this new app called Kew people are talking about... finally realized it’s Korg Electribe Wave... derp! 😄)

Apps i will explore/ spend more time with in 2019:

Galileo 2 organ by Yonac, PPG Infinite, ApeMatrix, All VirSyn stuff, KQ Dixie, D1, Aparillo, Gadget/Module, Touchable Pro, EG WaveShaper, Volt, and any AUV3 apps for which the dev Godfathers make me an offer I can’t refuse.
