Sunrizer/Cubasis, weird problem

I have a problem with Sunrizer in Cubasis where a specific Sunrizer patch looses modulation when I freeze the track or do a mixdown.

I downloaded Spidericemidas patches from this thread (https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/26533/sunrizer-synth-100-free-45-preset-patch-bank-by-spidericemidas/p1) and used the patch "Sea of tranquility".

In this patch the LFOs modulate the filter cutoff using S/H. This works fine until I try to freeze or do a mixdown. Then the track looses the modulation.
If I use another patch, or create a new patch and do the same modulation, it works as it should.

Anyone seen this before? @Spidericemidas, @giku_beepstreet, @LFS

  • well, for me, a number of au plugins seem to default to an ‘initial’ patch after you have frozen a track and then unfreeze.. i have only started noticing this in the last few months, i suspect it is a bug in cubasis .. but i can’t be sure when it was introduced.. we should probably start reporting it over on the cubasis forum..
    tagging @LFS , seasons greetings! :)

    Interesting find! Sounds strange.
I don’t really work in this way with midi/AU, and I don’t use Cubasis at all (although I have it installed, just in case I might need it one day), so this sounds like a bug or issue in Cubasis that I would never come across. I wonder if the same thing happens in BM3 or NS2 if you can replicate on those DAWs what you did with Sunrizer in Cubasis? (If you have them installed, of course!).
Hope you can find a workaround, or the bugs get addressed soon.

I tried it in BM3 and there the modulation is missing even before I render the track. However, I've just realized that the if I switch the LFOs in the patch to Trigger instead of Global the modulation is there both in BM3 and when I freeze the track in Cubasis.

    Oh btw, @Spidericemidas, great patches!

How curious! Well done for finding a suitable workaround, though!

    Cheers!
