  • Any modern UIs perplex me. CB is like going back in time to a more peaceful and forgiving world. And the learning is intuitive.
Now when they make a deal for the Kontakt libraries it will be a perfect world.

i think it also the interface /it gives you that easy and happy feel.
are they going to bring kontakt libraries to iOS????

  • Haha @Paa89, we can dream!

A well-designed, well-laid out, well-organized app with a good balance of UI, UX, color-scheme, fonts, controls, etc. will go a long way on usability. Plus, they are cautious about features and don’t push iOS/device boundaries so the app would max out or crap out.

  • Lot of DAW threads lately

  • Cubasis is just so cozy. Even though I’ve zeroed in on another host, and deleted most others, I keep Cubasis in the stable, for the reasons listed above...

  • Did they do something with sync? Seems Blocs Wave sync better now? Still wish for Anleton Link... but..

  • Cubasis is my main workworse. However I do find myself going into GarageBand quite a bit but will finish most everything in Cubasis. I’m so happy they’ve kept improving it over the years and I look forward to version 3, whatever that may bring! I’m a bit of Yamaha fanboy so it’s nice it’s all in the Family!

  • Gadget (since I don't use an iPad).

Yeah the interface is just sooo cool.even tho some basics are missing I still prefer it over iOS daw that have those basics.wired😂

Oh ok.is there any differences between the iOS version and the Mac?

  • FL Studio Mobile has a great 909 set that is always fun when I need a drum groove. Even so, I currently have Cubasis open since I picked up my guitar again and FL's IAA is acting strange. Cubasis has a built-in amp sim that on first listen sounds pretty good, and it's built in. Even though I have the extra drum IAP I'll probably MiniSampler those FLSM 909 sounds in.

  • Auria Pro. I can't imagine mastering my tracks on anything else.

Cubasis lets me think about the music instead of the daw. I can’t think of a better compliment than that.

  • I keep going back to BeatMaker 2 with it's strictly linear workflow though BM3's ability to do linear, pattern and scene modes has grown on me. Cubasis has always been a bit too basic for my taste though I guess that goes with the single simple workflow. I was really excited when they introduced the "Classic" drum machines but was sorely disappointed when I discovered you could not tune nor set attack and decay on any of the samples.

Bouncing back and forth between BM3 and NS2. Been playing with my pc daw over the holiday break. So amazing how uhh, amazing it is in that world. Tempted to just end this now though as when I get back to work/commute/couch I don’t want to miss it too bad.

  • Cubasis all the way - for me there is no other ;)

  • Beatmaker 3 for me. I like its layout and its pattern seqeuncer is the quickest way for me to get an idea down. It's been rock-solid too with a few reliable AUs, hundreds of samples, and mucho automation. I'm always surprised to read about all of the crashes.

  • One thing I can’t stand about iOS DAWs is the sequencing grids. I’m not a live player and prefer to sequence everything I do, so the piano roll/step sequencer is one of the most important parts of a DAW for me. One app that gets it perfect imo is Auxy, followed closely by Krft. When you’re entering notes it should be easy and fluid without a ton of superfluous shit on the screen. Just give me a fixed grid and nothing else! And a grid that you can pinch in and out of is useless imo because it creates cells too small to accurately compose in or so big that you can hardly see more than a couple notes. It also fucks up the perspective of the current timeframe. BM3 and Cubasis both have grids that scroll all over the place with any touch unless you lock it. And Cubasis can’t even have defined scales for the piano roll/grid? I like BM3 but it seems like every action that should be one or two screen taps is more often like three or four. Very annoying for someone with my workflow.

For this reason I use AUM and Krft as a midi sequencer 90% of the time.

My dream setup is for Auxy to release their current app as a midi sequencer because entering notes should be as easy as they’ve made it.

  • I have used GarageBand all the time tried other stuff and came back to it now I downloaded Cubasis finally and it feels very at home for me as I started making music on my dads pc and with cubase installed even though that’ was in the early twothousands
