  • Playing with Rozeta. It makes them happy. B)

  • Huge fan of NB demos, but god it's painful to watch whenever GW is involved. Really struggle to see the point of such video...

  • “It’s not bloody good enough!”
    You hear that Apple?

Too bad this was not released in time for this video, it might have changed the ‘focus’ of this nice video..

Tim Cook is too busy cozying up to Marxist tyrants to concern himself with his company's ecosphere.

  • Loved it. It’s funny at times, especially how awkward they seem using apps at times - yet this is important stuff - how others see iOS use.

    Think about it:

We moaned on here about the removal of the socket and then some got around to looking for workarounds. We moaned at the poor music related bugs on the new expensive machines, then some almost defend them - well, musicians from non iOS quarters just say it as it is - “it’s not bloody good enough Apple”

This is really quite important to show how many musicians will still see iOS - as in many don’t even know what it can really do. We need to be showing not just new peeps what iOS music making is capable of, but also the laptop peeps too!

Yes iOS creators make videos, but I will bet that this video alone will get seen more by non iOS music makers, than all the iOS vid makers together - mostly because of the guys making it!

Didn’t know it was the Bram Brothers though lol

The point of the video seemed to be to introduce non-iOS based musicians to what’s possible on iOS using AUM and the apps it’s hosting in terms of similar laptop/desktop environments. They also rightly showed how Apple hasn’t ironed out the bugs for the new iPad Pros in terms of music production which was the same issue they had when they introduced the previous generation of iPad Pros too with the additional hurdle of no headphone jack.

If you already use iOS and read this forum with any regularity, there shouldn’t be anything new or surprising in the video nevertheless it’s targeted at a wider audience rather than typical Audiobus forum members.

Sure, pointing out issues, putting pressure on Apple to fix problems - I'm all the way behind that.
NB as an outsider asking questions, GW as an insider struggle to answer these questions, sometimes giving factually wrong answers. Nothing about what are the advantages/disadvantages of AUM or AUv3 in general.
If I would be newbie and watch this, it would rather put me off.

  • Ehh... sorry for the rant.
You are right, if it's useful for some than it's all justified.

  • I thought the video was good - If I never knew what could be done on iOS I would have learnt a lot from it

  • Glad to see them back on the ipad. The original Sonic Touch videos (5+ years ago) made me dive head first into iOS music making. Shame Nick Batt bought an Android phone and abandoned iOS music making. There was a pretty major shift in Sonic State's coverage away from iOS to new cheap hardware (volcas, etc.) and the eurorack movement. Gaz has been carrying the torch though...

Haha I love this. I was disappointed when they stopped doing sonic touch. Hopefully they will keep at it and get more familiar with what’s relevant now.

  • Big up bram brothers and their awesome scope thingy!

Just finished watching. They did a great job showcasing where iOS is and I think it’s just enough to be inviting for newcomers and not overwhelming.
