Crossfading between iPads?
Are there any relatively inexpensive ways of crossfading between two iPads that you could recommend?
Thanks

Hmmm...
Well, you could run the output of one iPad into the input of the other.
On this other iPad, have this input in AUM on a channel, along with a master buss for what you have going on in this other iPad on a second channel.
Then crossfade between input and master buss channels.
That sounds good like a good idea- thanks for that. I don’t think that would quite give me what I am looking for though (unless I’m mistaken). I am hoping for a single movement slider like you can find on LooptunesHD or a dj mixing desk. I am thinking that the way you describe involves twin movements of sliders turning one up and one down?
In AUM you just MIDI map it so one fader responds one way, and the other slider responds in reverse. So, any MIDI slider physical or virtual will allow AUM to handle the cross fade.
Thanks- if I don’t come up with a physical option- which would be my preference I will give that a go.

You can get a whole mixer for that much.
50 bucks?
$59.99, same as the product you linked. Check the product I linked above.

Or...
$44.99 Behringer: https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-502-Premium-5-Input-British/dp/B000J5UEGQ/ref=pd_cp_267_1?pd_rd_w=keuMX&pf_rd_p=ef4dc990-a9ca-4945-ae0b-f8d549198ed6&pf_rd_r=707SZM514R6QYED9FKG2&pd_rd_r=c8b4608d-0ce1-11e9-9b12-952033641e56&pd_rd_wg=HCxmS&pd_rd_i=B000J5UEGQ&psc=1&refRID=707SZM514R6QYED9FKG2
I use iRig Mix which can be used for this purpose.
If 50 bucks are too much and you don't mind a bit of woodwork, you can get a spare crossfader potentiometer ($10 maybe) and build one yourself.
🙂 after Christmas I can go to £50- the Stokyo Kutter looks ideal. I have other mixers- so it is really just the slider part I am looking for more than anything.
Thanks everyone.
yeah I understand but I thought he was looking for a crossfader for the pads
Neither of those alternatives have faders, let alone cross faders. They just have pots, using faders feels very different in this context.
The AUM tip wont quite work either because in the middle position, both channels will be half volume, you need it to peak in the middle so that back or forward from that position fades out the other channel. Whilst the AUM range envelope is useful, it needs a third node to create that kind of transition.
I second the IK Multimedia iRig Mix recommendation, I have one and it been my iOS DJ mixer.
