  • @richardyot yo thAnks. I agree . This was an old guitar line I tracked about 4 months ago and had no idea what to do with .. I was going trhu my projects and very quickly put it together .... Sometimes I leave it as is cause the vibe is just right... It's a sacrifice I must make.. I've ruined songs this way . Anyways that's what next month is for . It's been printed pressed and posted!

Happy New Year everyone... A New year... A new entry.. But now I can share "Snippet" tracks. I had to do it for certain reasons.. (I just had to put about over 800 of my tracks into Sound Clouds Private Only Playlist.. Bloody Pain in the Arse that was!!!... ).... ;) … Also, on the positive side, the songs wont go on for a long time, like they did in the past... :D

I don‘t understand anything of what you are explaining😬, but that is a great track!

Thanks mate... Record labels I now work for told me to take my tracks off Soundcloud... My tracks are being released .. People can rip your music off Soundcloud.. DJ are the biggest culprits... My music there investment.. One track I posted on Facebook got 987 views in one day... best if do as I’m told.. Hope that makes sense..

Love the mix of styles, all!

@MonzoPro I particularly enjoyed the delayed climbing synth line at about the 2min mark.

Thank you! That’s actually me playing a guitar live through GuitarRig. Took me ages to play that all the way through without making a mistake :)

  • @LeonKowalski thats some chest shaking bass and punchy drums, actually surprised Gadget can kick that hard.

@studs1966 another banger! Would you say there is a bottomless supply of disco for you to remix or is there much crate digging required to find something good?

@trackedout interesting lo fi sound, reminded me of Flaming Lips at times. Whats with the weird drums and silence at the end?

@MonzoPro trippy psychedelic atmosphere, cool cover/thumbnail too!

Thanks very much! Actually, Gadget has surprised me again and again with what it can do in a lot of different genres and non-genres. Just as a side note, all my tracks are uploaded via Gadgetcloud directly from Gadget, so there is no mastering involved apart from a small amount of the onboard limiter.

Great keys in the intro, and love the bass line as well. Pro level production too.

Not a massive amount of iPad on this one (just a bit of Thumbjam played live), mostly Maschine/Reason, but hope you enjoy it anyway:

I really like this track, the textures are wonderfully evocative, the melodies are interesting, and the changes and evolution are pitched perfectly to keep the interest up throughout. It's the perfect blend of the weird (with the otherworldly textures) and the melodic. Great job, and I'm really loving this new direction of yours. These instrumentals are excellent.

    Nice guitar playing too :)

    Thank you Richard!

I'm making a concerted effort to try and up the quality of what I'm doing, and I have a bit more time to work on the solo stuff now the band thing is over - plus I've finally got a decent home studio setup now. I'm hoping to put more guitar and vocals into future tracks as well - I'm now using the Maschine controller as an audio interface and it's all there ready to plug into and play.

I find my iPad jams are useful as starting points - I stick them on an audio track on my desktop DAW (Reason), and then build tracks over the top, sometimes then removing the iPad track from the final mix.

Back into productive mode after a few months of stasis, so I should be a regular again in the SOTM thread :)

Hi everybody! New to the forum, but looking to become an active member of the SOTMC. Here is my first submission (made 100% on my iPad). Be nice....just kidding, be honest! I will look forward to listening to orhers’ tracks soon and providing helpful comments. Thank you!!

@gusgranite You had expressed interest a couple weeks ago when I first joined AB...here you go!

The organy piano bit that runs through the whole song as seemingly part of the drums could use some variation or turning on just for specific sections. Good guitar bits!

You'd be proud I listened all the way through without fast forwarding ;)

EDIT Just listened to it again. Even better with headphones. Nice textural variations.

NOT NINE MINUTES long (bwahahaha) under 3.

Done in AUM, Aphelian, ToneStack, Sunriser (I think - all I have left is the soundfiles :( )
    Quick mixing in MultiTrackDAW.

Still can't hear the bass without headphones and there are tooo many harmonics floating around. (I know nothing about guitars or guitar sounds)

I have yet to figure out anything more than live recording tracks that's why some lack of song structure and part breaks in my tracks.

Thank you for listening all the way through! I've tried to make it a bit more intersting than my usualy dirges, which even I skip through!

Yeah cool track. Song structure's a tricky one - still trying to figure that one out myself!

  • Did a little track inspired by "With Rainy Eyes" by Emancipator this month. Turned out pretty chill.

  • @shiftsynth1 Nice soul flavor in there. I like the call and answer playing.
@tjporter I really enjoy this one.

I still haven't listen to everybody.

Thanks! I'm also a fan of that Cure track. Aged 19, telling my GF at the time that "I like Pornography" went down like a lead balloon. (for the uninitiated Pornography is the name of the Cure album that song can be found on).

took a couple of listens to get into this... some great elements but the mix is a bit washy to my ears. would like a less reverby, more upfront mix with drums brought to the front. im thinking along the lines of Underworld's, Dirty Epic which this has a similar vibe too. love the crescendos midway through your track BTW..
