Nanokey studio tips

Just bought the nanokey studio. Finding that Bluetooth midi doesn’t work on a number of apps. Notably elastic drums. Also the mapping is like alchemy on some apps

Much as I love iPad music it’s this sort of thing that really pisses me off I.e. lack of standards for basic stuff

There should be some kind of law for midi learn :-)

    Hey bro,
if you add it in the iOS settings as Bluetooth device and get a established connection there... many apps that will not support Bluetooth within the app will display the nanokey then when it’s already established - makes sense?!?

I am not right now on the iPad but I know that works for Nanostudio for instance :)
(Yeah just checked... you can use the midi Learn feature then in the settings menu n elastic drums, or elastic effects for instance)

  • You can check also this Korg App for connection problems...

Bluetooth MIDI Connect von KORG INC.

Ask the respective developers to add that simple BT MIDI dialog to their app. Not a big deal.

True, but nobody said that the iPad is a replacement.for a Win/Mac system.

Unkikely to happen. If you want to do it right, you have to support absolute and various relative controller messages, customisable parameter feedback, support for bank select buttons, etc etc, and developers would have to agree on a basic set of features.
Not impossible though, if enough users want it and enough developers agree.

  • I have a nanokey studio as well, have you also installed the Korg Bluetooth app? Without that, it may not work properly.
