sorry,, I know its all about the IOS here, but some of these things may be of interest to some of the ‘portable musick folks here.. particularly the AE modular case & master unit, Bug Brand Board Weevil and the LSDJ gameboy cart.
rather than see this as a blatant sales pitch maybe I could describe it as a Peek into the dustier corners of my equipment cupboard and avoid any of the Bay of E stigma??

Sorry to hear that, lost the Mother-in-law same time last year, pretty horrendous experience with her too at the hospital (they neglected to feed her, or give her painkillers...every single day...the Mrs had to do it when she got there). Horrible times for you both, condolences to your partner.

I tweeted your list the other week, but since almost none of the fuckers on there read my posts I'm guessing it didn't have an impact. I've got a few other accounts, I'll try those now.

Oh jeez, I just read through the rest of the posts. Sorry to hear about your mother in law. We went through that too a few years ago. In our case it was more sudden and out of the blue and the timing of it was tied into another family members sudden illness issues, so the attention was scattered all over the place. But yah it is never the sort of thing that is easy. Always brings up so many things.

As for the main page I tend to just read subjects and not who started or last posted on them. But I do think a big 'For Sale:' at the beginning couldn't hurt... I don't even read what section things are in. I skim for keywords mostly.

thanks Monz.. I hear and feel for yr experience,, having just spent three weeks watching the hospital food trolley roll up and un-attentive kids plonk down meals in places old or feeble patients couldn’t reach even if they had stretch armstrong limbs... i can’t count the number of times me or my partner have wandered across the various wards just to put a plate of food under someones nose.. not surprising if the NHS is paying McJob wages. not to mention the 2 or three people that were dying in front of us virtually every visit..
the Acute Medical Unit is no place for the sensitive.. i feel a bit like i have war zone post traumatic stress disorder.. and i’m almost certain my partner actually does...

thanks for the words @AudioGus , it is, of course, inevitably an experience we will all suffer in greater or lesser ways.. will edit the title now and wait and see what driftwood washes up on the shores of the Bay of E tomorrow.

The Mrs is the same. Bad enough her mum was dying, but the horror of seeing the way she was neglected and left in pain really traumatised her. Her mums birthday was yesterday, and I think she died a year tomorrow, so a bit tense here too. It’s an old cliche, but it does get less painful over time. Know what you’re both going through there, but at least she’s got you to look after her. Take care mate.

I’ll save the horror stories for another time, but I was in a few years back (weird stomach bug). The bloke in the next bed was a bit emotionally disturbed, and at one stage jumped on my bed and attacked me. I pressed the red button, nurses came, calmed him down etc. I asked to be moved to another ward, but they said he’d be fine now. As soon as they left he jumped back up on my bed, thrusting his head through my curtain Jack Nicholson style, and started pulling the drip out of my arm. Nurses came back just before I was about to deck him, and this time moved him.

New bloke came in - old guy, fell off a ladder onto his head. Every few minutes: “Nurse, what time is it”. They’d tell him. Two minutes later: “Nurse...what time is it?”. After an hour or so they stopped answering, so for the rest of the night, every few minutes: “NURSE FOR GODS SAKE WHAT FUCKEN TIME IS IT NURSE WHATS THE TIME!”. Etc.

Next day, delirious from a lack of sleep, they moved me to a ward of very old men. Horrible, nasty, mad old men. I won’t repeat the things they were shouting. At this point I hadn’t eaten for four days, and was ravenous. I was told I could eat after the doctor had seen me, within the next half hour. Eight hours later, still no doctor, so I ripped the drip out of my arm and legged it.

It was great to be home, away from the horrible mad old men, but next morning I had to sheepishly go to the doctors and ask them to remove the drip hanging out of my arm.

Take care mate.

thanks Monzo,, we’ve been watching Holby City and trying to laugh at how far from the truth it is!

It was great to be home, away from the horrible mad old men, but next morning I had to sheepishly go to the doctors and ask them to remove the drip hanging out of my arm.

you see,, there’s a great short film script right there!!!

My favourite bit was when I was running down the hospital corridor, gown on, drip trailing behind, Mrs Monzo who’d just come to visit trying to keep up. “Come on, quick, leg it!”

    i’m glad it wasn’t a catheter!

I was after a title for the next album - cheers!

in the film version it WILL be a catheter and you will be played by Christopher Lloyd!

bumping this, as A) the items are all ending tomorrow
and B just yesterday lost my partners Mother in a long winded and heartbreaking ordeal via Hospital Aquired Pneumonia... and it looks like we’re paying for the funeral!!

I've got a few other accounts, I'll try those now.

thanks Monz..

He'd be good, especially with the hair and eyes - but Charlie Chuck would be a much more accurate match.
