I've just tried with AudioLayer, iM1, MidiFlow and they all made the connection. I believe that any app that can establish a MIDI BT connection will work just fine
Seems i'm using the UD-BT01.
Tested, and it now seems to be working. Thanks. I may have opened Synth Jacker before midimitr was connected, so that's what caused it not to show.
Thanks again.
Just popped in to let you know that the SynthJacker Spring Equinox Sale is on. Now you can get SynthJacker for half the regular price (now EUR 4.49) from now until Wed 25 March 2020.
Think of SynthJacker:
Get serious about sampling... buy the only utility that's pure IOS at 50% off. With enough revenue it will also keep getting more great updates. Did I mention it can do 20 second auto sampling? How's that for some one shot percussion instruments. Count to 20... one-one-thousand, two-one-thousand... 20 seconds is a LONG time. Clone a big drum machine into a keyboard instrument using the same MIDI note triggers and with velocity layering.
In Italy it’s still full price
Well that’s weird, I set the sale price yesterday and waited for 12 hours before announcing it... I’m going to check, could be my goof too.
No sale in UK either at this time
My bad. Fixed now. Takes a little time to trickle, please be patient. Sorry for any inconvenience. Sale extended.
Note to self: must practice clicking "Save".
Bought it now. Can anyone point me to a duffers guide to making settings for AudioLayer and Nanostudio 2?
Really appreciate your smart app!
Bought!
For NS2, I think you might want to start with this thread: https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/index.php?p=/discussion/598/importing-samples#latest
For AudioLayer you can find lots of good info here: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/34980/synthjacker-update/p1
Refer to the SynthJacker manual for more information about the settings you can make to get different kinds of output results.
Thanks! If you come up with any tips or tricks, please share! But above all, enjoy using SJ! It has been (mostly) fun to make.
Thanks for the pointers
@coniferprod do u know by any chance why Synthjacker is not available on the China app store?
It wasn't earlier, but now it is. The reason is classic: resources, or the lack of them.
It has been rolled out in stages over the globe, so that I can better handle the support. So far it's been roughly North America and Europe, India and Japan.
It's now stable enough so I can let it out to explore more of the world (unlike many, many people right now).
U let it into China just as it is finally becoming one of the safest places to be in the world, lol.
Well, unfortunately I am in Thailand but using a Chinese app store account, and still get the 'not available in your country or region' message for this in the app store.
Any idea why it isn't showing?
Maybe give it a little more time to trickle out... I don't know how long it actually takes for country availability and price changes to show up in the App Store.
Let me know if it still isn't available after 24 hours. This time I did click Save. Really I did. :-) I just double-checked.
This might help:

Oh yes! Although I consider this an advanced guide. It was really great that you put that together, much appreciated.
Thank you
It's alive!
Last day of the Spring Equinox Sale!
Are you still working on new features?
Reading app audio using Audiobus or IAA API's?
There are capabilities around adding loop metadata that some sample types also have. Not my area so I just hear about the capabilities of *rex files for example. That's a walled garden format I think from Propellerhead's that has some use in a Korg Gadget.
You've always been so responsive to user input so I'm curious what folks are begging for.
or are you working on a new product?
Synthjacker already does SFZ format.
It also works really great for AudioLayer with just sample naming.
Thanks. I edited my comment to fix it. Do you have any synthjacker enhancement requests?
@coniferprod was on a role knocking off my list of requests and added many I didn't know I wanted or needed like the BYOAF model for the sample slicing feature.
It would be nice if he could detect transients and slice out based upon some threshold and we could load slices right into audio layer and get a quick ReSlice type of set up fast from any audio file. Maybe also just pull out transients of less than some configurable length in milliseconds. Just pulling out clean drum/bass samples from a track for example.
Since you asked, a sneak preview of what I’m considering for SynthJacker (no promises though):
Pick your favorite and tell us about it!
No IAA, ever. Audiobus would need a wizard to point out how you can drive the synth. I’ve done the mental exercise twice, and didn’t come out of it any wiser, sorry.
As for new products, well, I did publish Sixten MIDI System Exclusive Manager for Windows 10 just a while back. There may also be something else in the works.
One of the problems I’ve run across is which parts of the SFZ standard are supported in various apps as I struggle to find it anywhere in the documentation for the app. Sometimes I can try importing various SFZ files to determine some of the types of OP codes that are supported but haven’t really investigated this in a systematic way.
@coniferprod Don’t even know if this is possible or not, but it’d be nice if SynthJacker could automatically create sustain markers for the SFZ files it outputs as that seems like a very tedious manual task.
The only thing I can think of would be auto-trim of silence from the beginning and end of BYOF samples. Of course, it would be fabulous if there was some magic for setting sustain loop points, but I can't even imagine an app being able to do that effectively.
Sorry, can you elaborate? If you bring in a long recording from elsewhere, and you used a SynthJacker-generated MIDI sequence, then the same Trim Start/End/Both setting applies to all the slices that are made from that long recording.
Maybe you mean the initial lag that can be present when recording IAA instruments, before the first note? I fiddled with that but it wasn't worth the effort to be honest. Easier to just chop it in an audio editor than try to adjust all sorts of nudge/pre-roll settings.
Are sustain loop points different than "regular" loop points, that is, sections of the sample that repeat while the note is held down, snapped to zero-crossings? Or is it the same thing?
