  • What are the notes tuning of the stabs and hits in Recife?

  • So for Stockholm. My files are gone and a blank spot is where my Rex file was supposed to be. Ifiles sees my Rex files but stockholm doesn’t see that app so now I have to go and import them back into audio share or drop box or connect to iTunes and move them back.

  • @ioue Vancouver samples are working as normal with the latest update. However, like other users, Stockholm still won’t load samples in my custom presets.

I assume your Rex files are stored in iCloud?
Until this is fixed, try to move some of them from iCloud to local (On My iPad).
You can do that with the Files.app. Just select 1 (or more) Rex files in iCloud Drive > Gadget 2 > User Samples and move them to On My iPad > Gadget 2. This will actually place a copy in that map, so your Rex files will also remain in iCloud Drive.

Thanks @R_2 I can confirm that resetting gadget worked and I can now add tracks again, also to older songs. @ioue I can still not see any samples in iCloud unless they are synced (downloaded) to the device.

This is kinda spec for this new browser. Please go to files.app to download or download via import menu. You can just download them.

  • So, does Stockholm work properly with local files in the latest version?
Or will existing projects have issues loading REX files that exist in Gadget's Documents folder?

Stockholm works properly on my iPad (iOS12) with Rex files in “Local” (Gadget version 4.2.4)
Don’t hit the cloud icon next to the Rex file. This will move the file to iCloud, but at the moment these are invisible for Stockholm. I assume @ioue is having a look at this?

Unfortunately, this is a pretty useless approach, as iCloud will often offload files from device by itself.

You used to have a cloud icon next to the files to indicate whether they where downloaded or not, and to be able to load them. I have 100's of samples in a folder, and clicking each one in Files is not an option, as that will also load Gadget each time you click one.

It seems to work in iPadOS13b3 on my iPad - at least I can see them all in Gadget, but there is no indication of whether they are downloaded on device or not.

No offence @ioue but the new browser seems kinda of a mess right now (as several posts in here also seems to indicate). I hope you can clear things up soon.

Gadget 2 keeps improving and it's a great app, I have faith that you will fix the new browser too

  • Check boxes and cloud icons seem to be missing but the browser is great already. I’m sure it will improve even more.

    Thanks!
The first thing I did after upgrading to iOS12 was to disable iCloud immediately. iOS did all kinds of nasty stuff with my files so it was the most logical thing to disable it.

Time for a Nintendo Switch emulator that runs on iOS 😅

  • Both new Gadgets seem to be ‘sample based’ so no real FM synthesis!?
Would love to se Detunes iYM2151 as a ‘Gadget’ :)

Hmm, does it still do that? Would indeed be annoying if it does.

In Files you can choose ‘Select’ at the top and select multiple files (there’s even a ‘Select all’ option after hitting ‘Select’).
In the Files app I’ve added Korg Gadget / User samples and other sample sources to Favorites to have fast acces.

No offence @ioue but the new browser seems kinda of a mess right now (as the post in here also seems to indicate). I hope you can clear things up soon.

I’m still getting used to the new browser and seeing some bugs. For instance, on my iPhone after hitting the download icon and selecting ‘Import from Files’ the sample browser disappears every first attempt. It works the second attempt (this doesn’t happen on my iPad).
But overall I hope the new browser will be better than the basic old one.

:'( Still had some hope Ebina did real FM.

Even if it did, I don't think it would have been more powerful than Chiangmai.

  • @ioue please think about giving our user presets some enhancement. For example, user banks, or tagging to reduce the length of lists. Searching for instant access would be helpful too.

Abu Dhabi doesn’t have one of those drum Kaos pads and it ought to.

Have you guys considered making more midi Gadgets? How about a customisable arpeggiator like the ones available in Reason. Audio fx gadgets are another way to go... a parametric EQ on the master channel for example.

Yes, it will also happen if for example you upgrade a new device, not all files will be downloaded at first. I think I read somewhere that favoriting a folder would force it to be downloaded (at least in iOS 13) so if that is true, it may be a good option. I have confidence that it will be fixed eventually, just annoying that it's so buggy at launch, maybe KORG needs to prioritize their QA procedure at bit more ;-)

Hopefully we wil get another update soon to clear things up.

    That's really underwhelming.
I'm so not buying these two.
Best (and only) investment for me is Montpelier. Really powerful synth.

the Ebina looks like it might be entertaining ... despite the lack of real FM.. the Otorii seems like a sample pack ( or an afternoon of trawling/sampling ) and Bilbao would cover it..

    Gadget bug?

Good luck replacing a gadget ...it doesn’t work at all
Gives you empty channels and such

...now I can’t get it to repeat the bug... wtf?

    Who knows

  • edited July 2019

Won’t be getting them either. When you’ve got synths like Monopoly,Wavestation, M1, ARP Odessey and and MS20, why would you want to waste time on an old video game synth like Ebina? Kamata and Kingston already satisfy my chip needs.

I was never a Sega kid either. They lost the video game wars in the 80s to Nintendo for good reasons, they just couldn’t keep up. Us Nintendo kids always felt sorry for the disappointed kids who didn’t have savvy parents duped into buying their kids Sega Genesis.

If Korg is on the Nintendo platform then why are they flirting with Sega anyway. The optics on this one aren’t pretty.

I decided to finally grab Gadget while it was on sale.
Not sure why I waited so long..? It's a lot of fun!

Are the IAPs on sale as well as the main app?

    Prices in USD

A few other Korg apps also add Gadgets so they might be worth a look.
iM1, iWavestation, Odyssei, iMS-20, iPolysix, iMono/Poly and Module.

    Thanks.
I already have most of the standalone apps. :)

I'm open to suggestion on the IAPs though...
Are there any 'must haves' in that list?

IAPs for iM1 and iWavestation (more samples and presets) and Module?
The IAPs for iMono/Poly and Odyssei are just ‘presets’ with extra ‘skins’ for Odyssei...

I have some hopes thar iElectribe Wave will some day drop as a ‘Gadget’ but no one knows for sure.
