Tap Delay: Absolutely mind blowing sound and Best In Class MIDI mapping...

Dear lord, I used to love Kos. How I loved it's many taps... But then @VirSyn Tap Delay stepped up and tappedtappedtapped me on the shoulder...

This thing is amaze-balls!

Playing the EQ in the feedback path on high delay feedback loops, then playing with saturation, bias... So good...

And then those amazing bastards @ VirSyn exposed every damn parameter to midi/au automation. THIS devs is how you implement AU mapping!

So while messing with this, I discovered that they went BEYOND the app in mapping. In the app, you're limited to turning the taps on/off,. Via mapping you can actually set the individual taps! I have no idea why they didn't expose that ability in the UI? Like just drag up/down to set level or something.

Anyway, it's worth checking out!

  • @MonkeyDrummer to my hearing Virsyn apps are the best I have heard on iOS Their reverbs and AudioEffx impressed me ..I spoke to the dev about adding a compressor to AudioEffx..in future plans ...that with the Eq will be a full channel strip.

Yep. That multiFX is just about perfect as well. I do wish there was a midi mappable command to slide units left/right, but yea, it's on pretty much every channel most of the time, even if I'm only using one of the FX.

    Good stuff.

Has anyone found out how to change the level and pan of each tap?
    (Like in Audio Damage Ricochet)

  • Thanks for reminding me! I guess I already bought it :* Sounds really good!

AD Ricochet??? This must be an older, discontinued release?

  • And yeah this is the best thing VirSyn has done on iOS. And in my opinion, the only good thing.

    Yes, and I sincerely hope it's a not-yet release on iOS ;)

Ok, that was good, just don't have much personal use for it. It's more their synths that don't do it for me, but I always fall for them. The one I was most disappointed with was Emo Chorus, since it came out right after the delay and I expected the world. FAC Chorus has since eased that pain.

Tap Delay and ReSlice are 2 VirSyn apps that are always on my iPad. I’ve moved over to NS2 and these are a great supplement to it.

  • Better than echopad?

  • Been using tap delay for Lofi tape goodness for years. I prefer it to anything else and can’t sing it’s praises enough. The saturation brings out so much just on its own

  • These days Tap Delay is just broken in AUM. Any way to notice Virsyn?

Red pattern around the icon, reloading is useless.

Edit: reinstalling worked. Now on to these 6.66 seconds delay…

    Same.

Also doesn’t load in Loopy Pro.

  • Still, even if it loads, the interface is severely bugged on iPhone and editing the delay time gives off NaN values and therefore the BAD SIGNAL error.

  • It has no presets anymore. I had this in te past too, had to do a re-install and now it’s the same. I have to admit I never use it, I happen to work more with Yukawa for more precise delaying stuff.

Tap Delay from Virsyn works flawlessly on my iPad. I’ve tested it in AUM and LP4i.
