Track - AEMS 4 Piano Solos

edited January 2019 in Creations

I was revisiting AEMS and found a Piano Solo made on the cheap:

AEMS $8
FX $4 ToneBoosters IAP’s
Piano Free Salamander SF2

So $12 total.

I did shove it through Grand Finale but the changes are mostly levels. Not really essential.

I swapped out the Salamander Piano for the $36 RC275 AU.
NOTE: It would not just play giving a "Too much CPU consumed" warning.
I rendered the Treble and Bass tracks to audio and performed a mixdown with
all other settings identical to the Salamander Recording:

And with the Piano sold as a BeatHawk IAP

  • Yeah I prefer the mellower sound from the Ravenscroft - although I do sometimes use the brighter Salamander to cut through a mix, but for solo piano or actual piano practice the Ravenscroft is always my first choice.

The Beathawk one isn't as dynamic as the other two IMO.

    Not enough layers.

  • Life without robots? Well done, McD. I liked the BeatHawk quite a lot. Have you tried combining pianos yet?

No. Can you provide a 30 second MIDI track that has more dynamics that my "new age" ramblings?

Preferably something with an ending like "Descent to the Mailroom" to test the ability of the app to render a lot of notes. Start with the softest soft and build to the insanity of the Mailroom rage.

I'll use your MIDI and run the lot again and maybe add the EP's to the party. I can make the stems available for you or anyone to produce the mixed piano series. I personally don't like the artifacts in the mixed recordings. They ruin the suspension of disbelief required to believe it's a real piano playing and not a synthesized instrument.

  • I will give that a try @McDtracy

Please do. I will use it and run a new set of comparisons for keyboards
using the apps I own and maybe others will pitch in for apps I don't own.
