Anything by Mrs. Miller when I need to practice self-control / anger-management :D

ah! the lounge update of Florence Foster Jenkins .. it’s a shame she never did an album with Mrs Mills!!

  • Here is one of mine...

  • Her is another. I don’t think I can ever get sick of this song, for some reason.

    :) Keep them coming

    What's the story with mrs.mills ?

  • No such thing as a guilty pleasure. You either like something or you don't

You heard the Sturgill Simpson cover from a few years back? Countryish music may not be your tea, but he does a fantastic job with it and his voice is really good. He turns it into a tour de force via Merle Haggard and a little bit of Nilsson

    What's the story with mrs.mills ?

hardcore pub party pianist.. and the original mix-master! :)

also hijacked by jim from V/vm .. on an album designed to be mixed over the top of Tim Heckers ‘Love Streams’ .. i would love to hear a mrs miller/mrs mills collab.. maybe doable with todays technology... Jim! are you listening in?

Has been a guilty pleasure for decades. Today the feeling of guilt refers only to the hairstyles.

You should feel no guilt over this one (nor should anyone else in this thread, it's been a very enjoyable ride). Jeff Lynne could write a big chorus like few others, and one of the few who could get away with two full verses before getting to it, because you know it's coming and just how good it's gonna be. Spent so many nights in my teens and 20s blasting ELO with the windows down and singing along full bore with a buddy or two at the end of the night.

  • I was crazy about this song as a kid:

those tracks you REALLY shouldnt like but cant help yourself :o :s

I had the album Cosmic Curves from Dee D Jackson on cassette tape back in the days. It was a concept album about a girl bored with her automatic lover. Very nice songs on the album :)

Here are some other great songs:

  • I had to think real hard about this. I listen to a lot of weird stuff and lost my shame long ago. So i thought, but then i remembered this track

I've got one of her album covers here somewhere, used to have it on the wall, this one too:

Her nephew used to be a science teacher at my old school, until he left after being stabbed in the head by a pupil (not me).

  • I sampled the living donkey out of this one years ago:

    Again, borderline cheesefest/cool ?

  • This next one I heard back in the 80s and always thought it was Philip jap, no wonder I could never find it. Recently learned it was Phil Lynott :o

80s cheese at its best ! Love it B)
