Hey, your wearing my favorite shirt! I also have that little Mininova board sitting above my Korg M50 at home . I've been planning on using them both more soon but I need a new mixer set up because my old behringer 32fx is going up. I am planning on getting the newer behringer with usb options, Xynex or something or other like that. Ive been toying with the idea of an audio interface for the Ipad but because mine is only 16 gb I believe I will opt for another digital recorder, perhaps a zoom R8? There are just to many wants on my list! Any suggestions are welcome. That little Akaii board sounds very nice I might also say. I like working from my recliner with the Ipad and the zoom has a small footprint. So i might opt for a second mini mixer just so I can work with the Mininova and the ipad together. I just can not make up my mind on how to go about this yet.
Ha my mixer is a Behringer 18/32 FX and its on its way out, but I love that mixer. All the audio is recorded into a little Tascam DP008, also a smart little multitrack, only two inputs though and no midi, but still nice. We have a big Boss BR1600 CD which is amazing, but not enough space at the moment. And yeah the little Akai is a very nice synth, incredible bass. No USB on the Akai but since I got the iRig PRO thats not a problem, and I never got why the MiniNova don't work as a midi controller, even though they put a USB in you can only use for the software, but hey you can't have everything.
The 18/32 has so many input and output options, and that is what I love about it the most. It has also been a real workhorse for me. I do a lot of weekend DJ work and this thing has taken a beating and stood by me well for many years now. That is the reason I will replace it with the new model from Behringer. Plus the new model is an interface for the PC! I could not ask for more.
