Isn’t that a phrase that’s said:
“You haven’t made anything really good for other people if that group of people (or person) can’t pay your back”...
@J33Z![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
i'm optimistic now, not in spite of the current state of play, but because of it
the chaos and squabbling, the divisive political climate
to heal a problem, first you have to acknowledge it
the 'divide and rule' tactic has been the go-to for the money creators for quite some time; that it's being used now with such force suggests they feel threatened.
and people are good
it might take a little while for us all to come to all our senses, but given opportunity we will
i've been optimistic and i've been pessimistic, and optimistic feels better![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I thought this was the year of the woman but listening to the gibberish coming out of the rose garden it's clearly the year of the fool.
'Is the world getting better or worse? A look at the numbers | Steven Pinker'
Spiritual problems cannot be solved by man or chemicals.
Money or things.
Music at least gives me the insight to determine what things are not.
At least on the inside.
I think @DefRobot's question requires examination. One truth is we all do get along. In fact, much better than one might imagine in a world of seven billions. It's amazing that we manage what we do. Sure you can say the twentieth was the bloodiest ever, but probably not by percentage of global populace...and we are still here. Most societies function to a degree. Empires rise and fall, as always. Looks like those myriads in China are coming to bat... Again.
Why are zombies such a fad? Because zombies represent our greatest fear... What happens when we don't get along.
Can it be better in our fantasies? Of course. But for most of us just keeping the zombies under control is enough. Just sayin'.
You know I love the love stuff.
We MUST keep on our toes.
The status quo, want division and upheaval, because it makes money and power for them.
Meanwhile, the suffering is increasing and the pure human emotion of caring about those that are suffering, is dissipating.
Don’t care less. We need to care more.
Vampires – living eternally with no love (fear of loneliness)
Frankenstein – being/creation without a reason (fear of unknown)
Werewolf – animalistic primal urges (fear of lack of control)
Zombies – consuming without reason (fear of death, rote existence)
thoughts?
All monsters are extremes of some part of ourselves.
i think this above image is true for cultures, as well as individuals
i believe our culture is currently transitioning between stages 3 and 4![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
great topic! I’m also struggling with getting help from others but I found getting independent solves almost all problems for oneself. Being dependent or even being addicted to someone or an idea or something is really dangerous and can get you stuck into that helpless state of mind. As soon as someone has power over you they’ll start manipulating you and your life. If you need help, do it yourself. of course that only applies to personal problems and not the greater world problems but that’s what revolutions are for, right? I’m for pacifistic revolutions though. violence doesn’t solve anything.
I’ll be following this topic - I’m curious what others have to say.
According to the UN 750 million people suffer from hunger. Each year 50 million people starve to death. As the world population is growing while the ressources of this planet are limited, the war for the best access will go on, as long as there are parties that compete.
The heat is rising and there will be mass migrations of which we start to see the beginning.
The forests are declining.
Per minute, the eqivalent of 35 football fields is beeing destroyed.
If it goes on like this, we will have destroyed 230 million hectares of forest until 2050.
This is seven times the size of the german federal republic.
Since 1964 the producion of plastic has multiplied by the factor 20.
We already achieved extinction on a global scale that competes with the great mass exctinctions of the past.
When i take a look at the intensive animal husbandry, it makes me wanna puke.
We would need an international and independent organ to keep balance and act as an arbitral authority. Something like the United Nations, but independent of the greatest financial contributors.
Absolutely
They are prepared, are we?
No one is good—except God alone.
Good for you![:p :p](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
@J33Z
if, as some believe, we are fields of energy,
spirals of energy, e-volving, the single most important thing i can contribute, is good energy![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
that is not to say we should not inform ourselves of the issues this world faces, but to lose ourselves in these problems, from my perspective, seems counter-productive
as for your other points, i'm coming from be lief, 'god' to me is as valid a word as 'dog' - it can mean a lot to many of us, but ask each to describe, and you have a lot of dogs![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
and optimistic is a choice
the ability for the world to come together seems easier now than ever before
So the UN isn't the answer, but here, check out this data from the UN.
Derp.
and now it's gotten to the point that man doesn't even believe in his own evil... as if there are no such thing as people who delight in the suffering of others.
stop blaming isms and start blaming the F people.
Yes! We love all this unitednatounions.
In first arm bombs for Yugoslavia and Iraq ,
and in second arm money for dying penguins and useful separatists .
Ancient people said: homus homini lupus est
unfortunately they were right .
@kobamoto
i agree we have to move away from isms, but still don't see people as evil
as i see it, the nummary number system has left many people numb
this can lead to unconscious action - wound up and wounded
better we focus on the how and not the who
i also think it's key to focus on our own personal behaviour
"as above, so below"
if we are prepared to keep and treat "live stock" the way some still do, then does this open us up to being exploited in a similar way by other Life forms?
we ARE the people![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
the how is 'taught', the what is hatred, the by who is 'the people', and when you teach hatred to others you're not in a state of unconsciousness you're in a conscious state of evil.
I'm not saying anything religious, non-religious, new age, or special... just common sense responsibility. Everything is not an act of ignorance.
imo
and yes We Are the People
Is there a thing like bad energy? Is it measurable? What kind of energy are you talking about?
Why should we inform ourselves but not act when we find it to be neccessary? This to me seems to be counter-productive and an act of self-sabotage.
I was trying to give a counterweight to the Steven Pinker video, where he proclaims that everything is fine.
I do not lose myself in these problems, but see it as a chance to live up to my humanity.
I think the word god has more designation than you know, as does the word dog.
But i get where you are coming from. Each of us is living an individual life, where he or she makes different experiences.
Of course we have things in common. Like the fear of beeing born into a world that does not meet us personally. We are put in a world that will take us away in a foreseeable future.
To believe to be living on as a form of energy wave or field, in an ever expanding cosmos, where entropy will lead to a big freeze is one way to cope with the problem of our existence, but not very promising.
I dont think so.
“No one feels another's grief, no one understands another's joy. People imagine that they can reach one another. In reality they only pass each other by.”
There are integer people working for and with the un. Their opinion just doesnt count as much.
Wolves are mostly social animals that live in groups.
Nature promotes the survival of the fittest. We adopted this principle and have build a society around it. Social-Darwinism.
People do evil out of desperation.
If a man is delighted by the suffering of another, then clearly there is something wrong with that man.
Capitalism has detatched us from any humane decision making.
Maximising the profit is the precept.
Do or die.
there are desperate people but not everyone is desperate. you can look at evil as a disease if you want but what do you do with a disease.. you cure it, cut it out, quarantine it, or let it destroy you.
the main problem facing society is that we believe in good people, and the goodness of people but are in complete denial of bad people who get up every morning with the desire to figure out the best way to touch you with their hate.
I like to not confuse suffering, things that mentally or physically cause anxiety, pain, discomfort etc, with evil.
There are plenty of things that cause suffering. Lack of food, ill health, unfortunate circumstances, no money. None of these things are inherently evil.
We all do things that are selfish. We all gather resources, energy, possessions. Things that supposedly will help us in the end feed ourselves, procreate, further our mental psychological beliefs of how the world is and how to efficiently move through it.
Survival of the fittest. Fitness doesn't mean the physically the strongest. Often it means that and those who are most flexible in adapting to changing situations. Strength factors into it. You can't have a viable organism if it can't run, hide, or deter predators, or gather enough resources to continue. Which is more fit, a lion or a tardigrade? Which is more fit a crocodile or an ant.
Tardigrades while small and not strong comparatively can be dehydrated, exposed to lethal amounts of radiation, frozen and still continue to live. Crocodiles could destroy any number of ants but which of the species cover more area and environs of this planet than the other. Ants.
Are ants, crocodiles, lions, or tardigrades evil. No. Are we as animals inherently evil. No. Do we do evil things. Yes. When we deliberately cause suffering, we are being evil. When we refuse through deliberateness or lack of effort to recognize the suffering of others, we are often condoning the evil that others or ourselves have caused.
Evil is like the seven deadly sins. They are pride, greed, lust, wrath, gluttony, envy, and sloth. Human conditions we all participate in and serve the self, but taken to extremes and or ignored constitute "evil". Sin could be considered the condition we all suffer from from being corporal bodies of finite size and time. The act of moving through the world is imperfect and we in doing so can propagate suffering.
Evil comes from having no empathy and not realizing we are in the same boat. The survival of the fitness as far as humans are concerned isn't about our strength as individuals but as cooperatives. You can't cooperate unless you can identify/empathize with the other (of any species).
TL;DR
Evil is the objectification of others — an unwillingness to find the us in others.
yes, evil bad, and good is good , the denial of evil allows people to recruit and build organizations and systems for the sake of serving it, ... Imo, stay vigilant and rebuke it.
not saying evil is suffering, saying evil causes suffering.
YAY we agree![;) ;)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)

it seems that we all very much in agreement at the current - rather difficult - state of the world
words, as always, a potential barrier between our smiles![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
@kobamoto i very much agree that responsibility is vitally important, but - to me - the system (the curriculum being taught) is as significant - what if rather than teaching hatred, we taught Love?
for me, "just following orders" is the battle cry of the unconscious, not evil
but what of those that knowingly and consciously maintain this curriculum of hatred? surely they are evil?
well, for a long time, whilst investigating "why is this not heaven on earth?", i was very angry at what i call the money creators, and those that maintain this system, and to me they were evil, capital EVIL. But what did this achieve? more anger and hatred?
did my e-motions impact on them? i'm not sure, but they certainly didn't feel good in my body
gradually, as i worked this energy though (using the elements - earth, air, fire, water, mind, and Love), i came to see these money creators not as evil (as i'd been taught the word) but as weak and unwell, fearfull and frightened.
did this impact on them? i'm not sure, but it did feel better in my body, and lead to less hatred in the world, as my i gradually let my hatred go
if good is Life inspiring, Life enhancing, and evil is a Life negating dis-ease, then i agree, people can be both![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
we just need to get the money-whip out of self-ish and dis- eased hands
