Best value, lightweight, au pitch shifter

So since it’s taking a while for stagelight to fix the sample rate / out of tune bug, I’ve thought of a workaround.

Is there an au that can detune by stepping the pitch up or down in increments? This way I can just add it to affected tracks and remove it when the bug goes away. The more lightweight the better obviously. Must also be universal.

Edit: just found ‘AUNewPitch’ in SL which presumably comes from GarageBand? It introduces a massive timing issue anyway so I don’t think it’s suitable.

I read that pitch shifters FX add 100 msec of delay to provide the math-e-magic on blocks of incoming audio. The last thing you'd want is for it to miss delivering a block in time. Is it possible to shift the offending tracks forward ~100 msec in relation to the non-pitch shifted tracks and remove the time shift and pitch shift when the bug goes away?

With the most common Vintage and Modern algorithms, Discord adds less than 20ms delay. I think that's acceptable.

Thanks, works a charm. Best thing is I already own it - bought all the AD apps when they were on sale 😄

Looks great, but in their description they say they introduce 100ms of delay so no good for this particular need.

  • Does Stagelight allow you to nudge an audio track around in 10 msec increments? I found that to be useful in Logic Pro X to make a drum track play "on top" of the beat or to "lay back" like a good drummer might.

  • Wouldn't an auv3 midi effect be ideal for this? I am suffering from the auv3 1 semitone pitch shift in Syntronik. Having a temporary solution to shift the track's midi down a semitone until the problem is fixed would be perfect. With the benefit of no audio processing latency?

Comes as an AUv3 and can even transpose different key zones separately if you need that.

  • :p I already have the miditools suite... I was quickly checking the apps to see if one of them could do the job but overlooked the correct one. thanks!

Good shout but this is ipad only. Any universal alternatives do you know?

Rozeta Scaler also transposes and is universal.

Can I use it in an effects slot? Tbh I’ve never really understood these midi au’s and not sure I’d get much use out of it for the price.
