Cubasis output sent to Jam up input

edited December 2013 in General App Discussion

Hi
I'm seeing a strange behaviour cause the Cubasis output is sent to Jam up Input.
On the I-pad mini( not the Retina Display) I use cubasis in the latest Version 1.7.1
and Jam up Xt upgraded to the pro Version App Version 3.0.2.331 & DSP engine 363
together with audiobus 1.0.2.5

normal recording works fine

My only problem is that after I recorded a guitar track in cubasis (Audio interface is a Tascam iXZ into the mic/headphone Input) the complete Output Signal is sent back to Jam up( this happens as well with other apps like Amplitube free).

so when I want to record a second track with another guitar sound also the sound of the existing tracks changes ( including midi drumtracks for example).

In Jam up I see the input meter moving when I start the play back in cubasis -
I unassigned the iputs from the tracks incubasis , tried to deactivate Audio in Background and many other things that could make sence and even the ones that do not make sence - just in case ...

Hopefully I made an incorrect setting somewhere - and this is not a generic problem. I tried pretty much everything (reinstalling all three apps...)

It would be very nice if some Gurus out there could help me solving this isssue.

THX in advance

  • oh forgot one thing IOs 7.0.4 (11B554a)

  • The way I do it is ...

Run AB. Set dest to Cubasis. Wake it up. Set Source to JamUp. Wake it up, set levels, gear, BPM. Background audio is on.

Go into Cubasis. Create new audio track, assign input to AB>JamUp, output to Stereo 1/2. Arm record. Record track. If I like it, reassign input to mono 1. Disarm record, ensure monitoring is off.

Create new audio w/ in as JamUp. Arm record. Go into JamUp, change amps and efx. Go back to Cubasis and record new track.

    This works all the time.

  • I suspect your problem is with your audio interface. You really should get something that plugs into the dock connector instead of the line in/out jack.

  • Thanks wayni for the quick response!
seems that could be really something with the Audio Interface - the weird thing is that as long as no midi Instrument tracks are involved it works - I followed your instructions, but as soon as I add a midi drum track the Output is sent to jam up again and ist also recorded on a new guitar track

I will do a couple of additional tests - I think I need to check some other threads and search for a new Interface

    do you have a recomendation?

  • I use line6 Sonic Port. It's pretty good and comes with Mobile POD to get you going. It also works well with everything else. It has both types of cables.

There is a sticky at the top for guitar interfaces. Check it out.
