Cthulhu on iOS...kinda...with ChordPolyPad (midi trick)
I had searched around for some solution to taking the chords and voicings from Cthulhu and getting them onto iOS but had no luck. ChordPolyPad is obviously the closest alternative, but there's no way to directly import chord presets from Cthulhu. I'm not sure if anyone has tried this method before, but I figured I'd share a trick I'm using now to manually import chord presets in a quicker fashion.
It involves setting up a track in your daw that has quarter note half steps up the keyboard for however many octaves cover your presets. Set up ChordPolyPad to be the client via Midi over bluetooth, or set up any other method that allows you to send midi from your DAW to ChordPolyPad. Toggle the "Rec MIDI Chord" option in ChordPolyPad. I set a tempo of about 215BPM in my daw, and then just let the midi track play. As each chord plays, it saves the voicing to the pad. after it records one pad, immediately arm the next one and just keep tapping the pads to capture the chords from Cthulhu. All in all, it doesn't take long to grab all the chords.
Heres a video of the capture process:
The only small issues I've seen are that at higher input speeds, sometimes chordpolypad will stop taking in the chords and will need to be closed and then opened again. CPP will either set each pad at the velocity the daw sends, or you can disable the "get velocities when recording chords from midi" option in the setup menu. Also, sometimes it doesn't recognized the chord names that match cthulhu's. Minor details really.
Not sure if many people will find this useful, but figured I'd share since there were some unresolved cthulhu inquires here before.

Good idea thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I love cthulhu!
Thank you
@chocobitz825 - I noticed your chord set on Cthulhu, is this a 3rd party chord set?
Any tips on Cthulhu chord sets that can be acquired?
That was one i picked up from www.adsrsounds.com . Hard to gauge the best ones since it may depend on the style you're going for, but there are some good sets you can get from there.
Thanks
Nice! I love ChordPolyPad.
The cool thing is - it works for any source of MIDI notes 👍🏼
Thanks for this tip. I intuited this approach for using with Scaler 2 on the desktop and ChordPolyPad on the iPad. Then, I finally installed the Cthulhu I purchased in December, and now, I am nuts about using it with Massive, as well as getting progressions into ChordPolyPad.
